Solved FPS

My fps is capped to 30fps..... I have OP Hardware and ow do I overcome this issue?

Could think of many different reasons. Bit of info would help
1. Is this a new issue while you had higher FPS in the past?
2. Are you running the 32bit or 64bit client?
3. Does this happen on all maps? Try go to a completely empty one somewhere and see if your fps goes up. I recommend looking up at the sky as there is nothing to render, so it makes your FPS go up a lot.
5. If I recall the graphics options have a FPS cap setting. Check if that is on.
6. Vertical sync in old games worked in a funny way where it capped FPS to your screen refresh rate (in most cases that was 60fps) and if you couldn't make 60 it cut the fps in half (so 30). Untick vertical sync if you can and see what happens.
7. Try lowering graphics settings or changing between the HD and regular graphics engine.
8. If your CPU has an integrated graphics card, there is a chance the game is using that one instead of your dedicated. Some games tend to do that. I tend to disable the integrated card in BIOS so the game always detects my dedicated one.
9. DirectX can be an issue. In most cases Aion tends to not run at all if you don't have it, but I've seen this happen on DirectX 8 games where I had like 10-15 FPS on new hardware until I installed the appropriate DirectX and then my FPS increased dramatically. Aion runs on DirectX 9.0c, you can try install/re-install it.

Overall screenshot of your fps and your graphics settings would help. Overall if it is exactly 30 and not fluctuating I would suspect vertical sync or a FPS limiter of some sort. Nvidia has a few tools like that.

Gotta go sleep now, you can try a few of these. The more info you provide, the easier it is to fix it. Will have a look when I wake up.

 

well, When I play my games on steam. I get 60fps+ and they're high n" games....
I have my vsync off as well. I'm also running bit32 should it be bit 64?

 

If you have a 64bit OS then the 64bit client runs a lot smoother. In any case, you haven't really answered any of the other stuff.

 

Go on options, can't remember the two name, but it's he far right one, untick battery saver mode. Took me a while to figure it out myself, coz I had same issue on my notebook.

The best thing you can do is just click "FIXED FPS" It improved my FPS alot !

 

If your FPS is capped at 30~
Go to Options -> System Settings -> Uncheck 'Power Save Mode'.

 

that option only appears on laptops and notebooks, but it limited my FPS to 30 when i should have been over 100 like i am now. At least Noyah knew what i meant, thx at least now i dont have to turn my other laptop on now lol

 

Didn't even know it exists As you said, it doesn't even appear on desktops. I would prefer if it was there, but grayed out, so you would know such a thing exists without throttling a desktop for no reason.

 

It's fine, maybe you should get a lappy too, just to cover all bases for fixes in future lol

 

Yea I have one, it is roughly 10 years old now, running an 8 generations old graphics card, somehow still runs, though the battery is dead. Only used it once this year and that was when changing addresses and my desktop was packed up. After booting it for 20 minutes I realized it really needs a format. Have win 10 on it right now and it is usable for browsing and movies.

 

pretty much the only thing i use my HP for, its similar in age, on win 10, i use for downloading, movies, music, netflix, youtube and all that crap, got a custom laptop for gaming with, keeps up pretty well with desktops, but could be a touch better tho.

 

My problem is fixed!!! thanks you guys
