This compared to retail

Hi,

So I've played retail for about a year and a half, and just finally hit soft cap. With the new change to ap and stuff it kinda killed it for me tbh, so I stopped playing. I heard of this server and was wondering how much faster it actually is and how grindy it is. For example, I'm not really sure I want to start from scratch and gather hards/sharps and do relics for mem frags tbh. I play about 2 hours a night usually, so I just don't have time for retail to keep going forward past soft cap.

- How grindy is it?
- Do you have to gather for hards/sharps and do scrolls for mem frags?
- Do you legitimately have to get FS to enhance? If I do enhance I only want to smash things with like 10 FS, no more headaches
- (^Follow up) This time around I don't really want to go hardcore enhancing. Is the market actually viable to buy boss gear off of or is it usually empty because the player base is a bit lower?

Q1. This server is not grindy at all, it will only take you a week or so to get to 62. Maybe even less, depending on the amount of time you put in.

Q2. You will still need to build failstacks for bigger enhancements. I typically start going for DUO at 10fs, but rng is rng and you could fail a lot. But saves the stacks you get from failing because it's really easy to repair boss gear.

Q3. There is a lot of boss weapons on the market for every class, you will not find it hard to get boss weapon gear. Boss armours are a little bit more challenging to get, but it's still relatively easy as they get posted a lot on the MP!

 

oh sounds cool. As for mem frags, do you have to do scrolls for them? or did they put them into the drop loot table?

 

You do scrolls for them, I spent 2 hours at Crescent's and I have 25 Pila Scrolls. Pretty fucking solid if you ask me. B)

 

You also get memes, hards and sharps from RBF weekend event

I see. How much better is the income here? I played a little bit and hit 56 (god i forgot how much of a pain it was without anything) and its just such a drag doing it all over again. I won't mind as much if im able to grind like 100m an hour or w.e, but if im grinding like 20m an hour I might pass unfortunately. I'm also not sure what to do afk considering trade doesn't work - that was my main source of income. Definitely not grinding CP lol

 

You can make hundreds of millions an hour here it just takes some patience. Start gathering early and often. Go to every world boss. The drops are amazingly good compared to retail and your wealth will be a snowball effect. The more you play the more you'll make. It's not an AFK game like retail BDO is.

 

The only "money" method i have right now since i blew up my tet dande and tet nouver to pri is afk horse training, not really fun to drive that back and forth without auto pathing cx what methods do you use if you wouldent mind me asking?

You could be 62 in a day if you wanted. I got 62 in 5 days but I went through all the black spirit quests also.

 

Level 66 is the max level cap on this server. It is not recommended to level past 63 as you will lose aggro from Valencia mobs if you intend to spend hours farming for drops.

 

Retail could learn a thing or two from GameZ tbh. This is how BDO should be played.

Armour and weapons sell for alott more here, you will get a feel for what sells and what does not. My grip with the game initially was that it was hard to find enhancement drops. But most of the mobs in mediah will drop them ona fairly regular basis. and node investment appears to hold more sway over what you get.

Because it is easy to level life skills you can get to master gathering quite fast, so therefore with node investment and buffs to gathering can be used efficiently. I typically get 20ish hards/sharps an hour.

Personally they need to make fishing a thing and or trading a thing to truly help out lower level players. It is a chore to bring everything up to scratch.
