    This is tricky to explain, but Kolka mentioned it awhile back.

    The game only lets you process one gatherable action at a time. In the video, your pets and you count as two gathering so your gathering will fail until your pets are done looting (the random drops from killing sheep). You can prevent this by just putting your pets away, or letting the pets pick up first, then chop the sheep.
