Game crashes when switching characters or changing channels

The game seems to keep crashing at random when switching to a different character or changing channels. My friend said hes having the same issues and I seen it happen to him while we were doing bosses last night he ended up getting barred from switching and missed Karanda. There is no error or anything when it crashes it just goes straight to desktop.

 

I've noticed this a few times as well, I believe only since the new patch. I've been quitting to char select screen, then switching and it hasn't seemed to crash. I feel like this was mentioned as a fix in one of the later retail patch notes.

 

Wouldnt be half as annoying if it wouldnt lock you into the channel you Crashed from.

 

Is it the crash thats locking you, or the fact that a boss just spawned and there is a 15min wait when bosses spawn on any of the servers? I think the next retail patch got rid of that annoying feature, but more annoyingly made the bosses "global" which made them generally not get killed.

 

It isn't related to boss spawning. What happens is while you're trying to switch channels the cooldown for channel swap starts but you crash and when you restart you're stuck with the channel you crashed in with the cooldown on all the other channels. This is annoying because a boss could be spawning in 2 minutes which you tried to switch to but you are stuck in the other channel for 15 more minutes.

 

Ah, yeah I forgot that there's also a 15min cooldown on channel switching too!
