I've just been reading how Xigncode 3 (on retail) potentially checks the USN Journal for software that's been recently run. This may account somewhat for some of the issues I've been having when I swap from retail to gz and vice versa.
If this is the case, having GameZ running in a different folder is not a solution, so I want to know if it's possible to run GameZ from a VM? Note that I never run retail and GameZ at the same time.
The reason I ask is that I understand that since Windows update 1803, Xigncode actively stops BDO from working from within a VM and it also blocks a VM from running concurrently.
What I have in mind however, is to run GameZ in a VM (assuming that GameZ's front end doesn't have similar issues with VM software) ... is this possible and within the GameZ TOS?

No, smartguard will prevent you from accessing the game as soon as it detects a virtual machine running in the background. There's no way around it.

Thanks, but I would only play one at a time.
I'm planning on getting my main BDO fix from GameZ; and the only reason I login to retail is to see the state of the game there ... especially since the hard sell for cash shop P2W/P4Convenience items has been getting more invasive and persistent lately.

Unfortunately, smartguard will stop you from playing on VM or shadowpc and the likes.
Not to mention, it also stopped everyone from using remote applications like teamviewer.
I think it's some sort of protection for those people who uses speedhacks, auto clickers etc.... Remember before? There were no cooldown skills hacks and people running around under the sea lmao.
