Resolved [Fixed]

Hi. Ive been trying to play the game for a week or so now, I started off with the failed to init security problem, and then came across the issue where the game was stuck on preparing to download. I seem to have fixed the latter error now, but I'm now back to the first issue. I've done what the megathread said and allowed gamez and black desert online through the firewall and other antivirus programs, as well as copying the file and renaming version.dat. However, it wont allow me to install visual c++, as the box is just greyed out and I can't click on it. Does anyone have any solutions?

 

You need several packages of C++ to eliminate the problem. Check in your system control panel which ones you already have. I have C++ 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2017 installed, x32 and x64 for each of them, the game runs flawlessly. Maybe the launcher detects some of them are already there, but that's not enough - just check against my list and install others manually. Good luck
