Where is GamezBD heading?

Unfortunately the staff has not answered my previous post:

So in the hopes of getting an answer, even if it is; "we're currently working it out", I will try again.

The in-game server-chat channel is being used 80% for trade (WTB/WTS/WTT) messages, which is really not what it should be used for, another 10-15% of all the messages are about griefing/trolling/toxicity, leaving just 5-10% of the messages for guild promotion, asking questions about the game (which this channel was designed for), asking for Groups/Parties, and other down to Earth kind messages.
This alone makes SO many players quit after a short amount of time, leaving only the players who are either indifferent or actually think that this should just be a carbon-copy of "Retail-BDO", which makes NO sense at all, then they might just as well go there and play.

I was in a short amount of time trying to change how things are done on our server, but it did not work since the majority of messages are in other languages than English, perhaps the players simply cannot understand English, but the problem still remains that the server-chat channel which should be a resource for -especially new players- is being abused to the fullest and ruining the gaming-experience for pretty much anyone with an independant thought development, not a main-streaming-mass-mind-mentality-dumbo who cannot think for themselves at all. Sure the answer these players will support is just ignore that channel instead of this server actually working for the "good" and new players, so in order to make SOME sort of order out of the chaos- already eating away at the core of this once-so-wonderful server project- HOW about we just make the World-Chat-Channel specifically for Trading, and give penalties such as server mute for players abusing this?

World-Chat is working, has a different colour than the Server-Chat, AND (if you have the ability to reason) works perfectly for Trading, since that is exactly what world-chat should be used for.

Where is GamezBD heading? What is your intentions for the special things about this server in comparison to the "Retail-BDO"-version?
Should we try to make this a GREAT server once again? Perhaps get some GM's to hand out in-game mutes?

Anything at all that the staff could say about this topic would be well recieved...

 

First of all, there's a filter, so you can take your xenophobism disguised as opinion and change it so you'll only see english messages.
That being said, there's no rule to server chat. Not here or even in retail. It's made for trade, for chatting, for recruiting, for whatever people like to say and mostly of all, it is made to spend energy.
I used to read your topics and ideas, since a long time ago when I used to have another account. But this topic ... This has nothing to do with the subject. There's so much more to care about in GameZ than the chat server and what people say there.

The in game server chat is for all in game communication. If you see abusive chat that breaks rules set forth here in the forum, report it in player reports to be dealt with or block the person. I do not have answers to the other questions, as I'm moderator.

 

Look I do not know which account of yours was previously banned, but the way you are aggroing towards my posts is really getting in the way of a constructive and reasonable forum. So I ask you to stop "trolling" me right now, or I will have to start reporting you, please.

Also to all those players who are OBSESSED with "Retail-BDO", I can only tell you all that this is NOT it, if you are so hungry for that particular experience I suggest you all go play there instead of poluting this once awesome project. Unfortunately, much like the environment, it has already become quite bad here.

Just the fact that you are suggesting that things should be EXACTLY like "Retail-BDO" makes me think you are completely wrong about how you view this project, however having said that, we have yet to hear from the Staff of GamezBD about where this is heading yet

I just see multiple things that could be improved upon rather easily, such as the Traces of xxx (items that USED to drop from almost all "mobs") could be reintroduced and have its amount increased since we no longer get proper gear drops from the "mobs" anymore. The gear we used to be able to heat and melt into Traces of xxx, as well as getting Processing experience at the same time, and metals/pure-crystals, the very foundation of the crafting side of this game. I know that is what "Retail-BDO" did to the game, but how is it helping when SO many are leaving the game and now also this project because they are just copying it, instead of doing exactly what Private servers should do to games...IMPROVE THEM!

*Updated: I have just been questing in the southern Calpheon, and to my surprise my inventory got filled up quite quickly, however it is still the same problematic Secondary Weapons that are mainly dropping, the problem remains that they do NOT melt into Traces of xxx, only Main Weapons drop that particular resource.

So why not make the Exchangeable trash-loot (grey items) drop again instead of the Secondary Weapons that just clutter the inventory, that way players can still get loads of the Secondary Weapons but without having to empty their inventory just throwing them out all the time, the EXC. items weigh like the trash-loot does (0,01 lbs.) and can be stacked to more than 1000, so it would work out really well to keep the level of 2ndary Weapons in circulation and keep the inventory manageable?

 

Bullied into submission, kinda like the GM's are atm. Hop in RBF, fight the top fraggers then fight all the fodder, you'll see PDQ there's some fishy stuff going on.

People running around with over max attack speed, cc resist, cc ignore, move speed. Either hacking or have GM items on. So yea i'd say it's not heading in a good direction. It had calmed down for a while, but it's starting to turn into a soup sandwich again.

Im waiting for my cash code, Loboram still didnt proven that i also had any other accounts or banned accounts . Realy Loboram why all the time if someone have different opinion and all your arguments gets crushed, or you just dont have any, you start your personal attacks toward someone and assume he have multiple bans and he is troll... Honestly that's realy rude, what you actualy do here and all this false assumptions start to be boring. You complain about the hate on server chat, while you do not respect other opionions and make hate towards some users atm.

Prolly going back to Tom Clancy games from here on, I enjoyed gamezbd specially when they had finally in game events with real life prizes but now?
Red Battlefield points being top 2 flag on most channels I switched simply means a lot of top / old players either lilow like me or stopped playing. I see my friends list dying though and some people not recognizing me so prolly they sold their accounts lmao

 

We also have to find a way to increase the population for both EU and NA.

People complain because they care. Topic starter has valid points that could help towards a cleaner chat. And u can come with the argument that in retail there are no rules either. But retail chat is not ruled by trade messages because there is simply no need for these there. Neither is retail filled with foreign spam (the English chat "instance" option they recently added is just terrible) or 6+ lines long guild messages.

 

This is probably the most valuable post that will and has been made the recent time and coming time. There is some serious fishy stuff going on and it breaks the experience of this server. After all the nerfs, poor patch implementations and bugs, the last thing Gamez had going for it was the BDO gameplay experience. I am probably one of the few players that has the biggest grudge against PA and retail BDO as a 3 year old BDO veteran. But even I, after all the faulty promises, p2w, slow enforcement of tos vs hackers, and shady practices PA has indulged in, am considering to just bite through it and play retail again. I simply cannot hold up Gamez as a proper alternative to retail anymore when reflecting on recent year's changes and improvements Gamez has attempted versus what retail BDO has delivered.

I'll deliberate on this a bit with my perspective, before reading do take note this is my opinion:

Gamez numbers have decreased. More than half the server is just AFK leeching pearls. You can tell when you ride by Velia and Heidel, monitor the nodewar activity and popular gathering/grinding spots. Spots that were overflowed by players have died down outside the evening hours.
Crucial bugs that were here since the NA server days have still not been addressed (where other servers (C*****) have succeeded)). Which major bugs that have been reported a year ago have been fixed? And Im not talking about minor class skill bugs, or minor tweaks like marketplace registration limit, or even patch day bugs because of poor testing / implementation.
DP/AP player and monster formulas are very different from retail to the point it feels like ur playing a different game. Ex: you can get 300 kutum here and clear endgame spots about as fast as 269 kutum does on retail. Ex: a high AP sorc cannot do the damage to a high DP mystic as it can on Gamez.
Desync is also way more common here, and that with less than 2k players on average the last month(s).
All in all once you're past the: "oh nice I get an extra rare drop over retail here per hour" and "enhancing is much easier", and start to zoom in on the technical, gameplay state of Gamez and inactive population, you'll quickly realize not much has been improved at all. To be frank retail's silver per hour rate is not bad at all these days and you can skip enhancing by just sparing and buying ur gear. Sure it takes a bit longer than Gamez but the world you can utilize your gear in is in a much healthier and more alive state. Sure there are insanely geared players in retail you won't kill any time soon, but in general most players sit around a gear level that most players can attain by putting in a few hours a week for a month or three (the same as Gamez asks from u to start competing with full PEN high caphra players, since they removed afk horse silver making).

Some say many decisions made the past year by Gamez were to bait players to play longer (also leads to more chances for cash shop item and premium purchases). Even if this is true, the reverse is reality. People are attracted to Gamez for fast progression to compete with others faster and just play the game on equal levels with others. This made it worth it dealing with less capable servers and more bugs. But if ur gonna force the players to grind for hours every day for a few months to get the full PEN gear that other players already have.. they might as well go retail get full TET gear and accessories in about the same time, and face less bugs, less lag and way, WAY more players to play with.

Finally this is just my opinion. I know this will probably provoke Kolka's white knight army and full c20 13/13 PEN players that want to keep their monopoly demigod status in-game while bullying weaker players.
I hope I do not get banned for sharing an opinion as others I know have been recently for just voicing a opinion. In the end I share the opinion because I somewhat care about the state of Gamez and the friends I made here.

 

Everyone in every server uses the chat server to announce guild, trade or items that goes to the market. That's pretty normal.

Stahp!!! OF COURSE you won't see foreign chat in retail servers so often. And that's because it's not "global" like Gamez. Pearl Abyss services are exclusive to each region and so there's no need for a russian player strugling in NA, KR, SEA or any other server if there's an exclusive server for him... Just shut up. This is xenophobia.

 

Jujuba seeing as you're a borderline troll consider this my first and last spent effort replying to your message. You're a terrible group discussion participant. Telling others to "STAHP!!!" in caps lock and exclamation marks in a group discussion. Telling people to shut up in a group discussion. Please, this is not how grown up discuss and share opinions. Also the context of your message is just false; when was the last time you played and read retail chat at all.

That being said. Your region based argument simply does not add up. Yes BDO EU has a player base from mostly Europe but do you realize there are 24 official languages, and over 200 spoken languages on the continent.. yet you rarely read non-English messages in server chat. And yes, even "struggling" Turkish players play on BDO EU after the BDO MENA Central Market fiasco, where it pretty much died.

Just wow, you're trying to apply 'xenophobia' to foreign language spam complaints in a videogame chat? Come on, do you even know the definition of xenophobia. How about plain old annoying and repulsive.

 

I come from BDO retail ( EU specifically ) and I can assure you that this is totally a thing even over there.
It's not a problem of Gamez per se , it's a problem of how the game is structured , handled and of how its community is ( I always saw people using server chat for any purpouse as I saw them using roleplay chat for anything , world / trade / recruit channels for literally every reason but the one intended to . Hell, we even have a LFG board in game where people should post advertisements for parties and guilds but no one uses it, it's always completely empty ) .
People are generally lazy and an unmoderated chat can lead to these results in the long run ( Why would you post in a channel at which people barely look at when you can post in server chat and be noticed by everyone ? The chat ain't moderated anyway and everyone else does the same. That's the logic. It works ) .
As for people speaking different languages and sometimes not understanding english....that's something that happens in every mmo , regardless or retail / private , EU / NA ( I am from Europe yet I play on NA Gamez servers because my friends are from NA ; I also speak 3 different languages but that doesn't mean everyone else who takes such a choice has to ) .

Still, while some moderation and temporary muting would be fine I don't think this is the core of Gamez' problems.
There are many and more important things to take care of before thinking about how to solve such an issue.

Seriously? You read what you want to read into things then...You are obviously Not actually reading my posts then. But it is understandable, you are a human and what humans do best is destroy things that are perfect as they were to begin with, much alike this project GamezBD.



GamezBD just started catering to the wrong crowd and are now suffering the heavy loses of "good and kind" players who are fed up with how toxic the community is getting with the staff just letting these people do whatever the hell they want to the community and the players who used to put in a lot of work to make the project a great place for All types of people. It is obvious that the staff is overworked and do not have what it takes (or care) to implement the few changes that would make this a welcoming and warm place to spend a couple of hours of your day in.

So all in all, my original post was about where this project is going, how to improve things for ALL players, and the answers I have quoted show Absolutely Nothing about the that, in fact the only thing they are doing is being aggressive and demeaning towards me as a person, eventhough I am just trying my best to make this a revelant discussion as well as a place where players, who actually care, would weigh in about the topic at hand, instead of just lashing out against other GamezBD-community users.

 

No no, I get that the language issues -and the chat-channel (ab)use- aren't high on the list of things that could REALLY need some help on GamezBD, but in my opinion it was a tiny first step -that would be incredibly easy to implement- on a much longer journey to making this a place where people would like to play despite the poor state of the game as it is on this server

 

This is seriously a problem. More and more players are going to leave and new players will stay away if something isn't done about this.

 

I think the game is headed towards a sharp decline if it hasn't already. I'm sure the people who rotate accounts to sell and stuff will continue to play here, but I think most people who are serious about BDO are just playing retail nowadays. Too many bugs, walls, and issues to deal with here these days. Even if the enhancement is easier, it's really not that much easier.
