How can a GM tell if the photo has been photoshopped or edited?

what if someone frames you up getting a screenshot of you receiving damage and edits it with some numbers to make it look like your damage hacking?

i just asked because i know people who does this.

maybe GM's should not just reply on photos and just go out the field to catch them on sight to be fair though. happened in other private server my friend played the GM banned him for the SS only without investigating further or following him through the game.

 

When it comes to the reports section it's a little difficult to try to catch the person online but, it's also easy to tell when an image is photo shopped, so that's shouldn't be an issue. If you find a photo shopped image please report it to a GM.

 

Interesting post, im sure there are many ways to manipulate reports to get innocent people banned. Just need to trust the GMs investigate properly before banning /shrug.

 

i know how to edit myself cause i know how lol srsly gms never relly on ss chat logss... in game screenshots are more reliable cause its easy to tell if its edited because of the pixels :x

 

don't be so sure XD photoshop can do miracles , a good excuse is saying my screen is small (so you post a small screenshot where it's hard to see if there are any edited things in it , if the photoshop user is a gfxzor , you will need 1 year to find out if it's edited or not ._. sadly.

If the screenshot is to small to tell then no action well probably be taken, same with terrible video quality. Up until a few days ago I used fraps, but I switched to xfire, I'd suggest everyone else do the same.

 

i just use Print screen button [Prt Scr] lol and the screenshots are saved in C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\Screenshots i got xfire and fraps though , but xfire usually gets smaller screenshots than ur prt scr button does , prt screen of course won't help the situation if u rly got a 800x600 screen roflmao

warrrriorzzz, with just a bit of knowledge on photoshop thats very easy!

its very easy to fix that up, you just find the font that looks like the damage letters, and a couple of numbers behind the normal damage. ex. i do 1456 and u add just 324 and it looks like i cheat. changing colors and making it fit!

Adieu, if you want to never have this problem, try making ur own font just for the damage for ex. and the problem will never happen!

rather make people use some movie recorder program, very hard to fake that at least it will take lots of time!

Except if you have a weak computer/internet connection. My computer, for example. Fraps doesn't freeze the screen for as long as ingame Xfire actions. :unsure:

 

i think files have dates when they are CREATED and will have another dates in them showing when/if it was MODIFIED. so a file, or in this case a picture, if edited/altered will show two different dates - when it was created and when it was modified.

it's almost certain the picture is edited if the created and modified dates are different.

well, you could techinically post a screenie of you with the combat log open. The combat log is not time stamped, but then you could find the same damage and combat log in your chat log and edit the time stamps. If thats enough to get someone banned, then its easy to trick people. But hopefully GMs ban after investigation lol
