Noob Alert!/Making Money

I am a noob. Not necessarily a noob to MMORPG's but just to Aion. I have been playing MMORPGs for a good amount of time and I am not familiar with new terms. Example: When I started playing, "Farming" meant to gather natural resources(mining). Now I think it has something to do with grinding a particular mob. Any way you look at it, whether I'm wrong or right, I do not really understand what I'm reading when people give me a legnthy list without literal terms. Therefore I ask politely for anyone who is willing to, to give me a list of how to craft, upgrade, and effectively grind, and what certain terms mean if possible.
(I know that a good majority of the people who are going to respond to this thread are going to tell me to simply search and read the forums or bad mouth me. I now politely ask you to not say anything negative in this particular forum I am making. Thank you.)

 

In Aion, there are six different crafting skills: Alchemy, Armorsmithing, Cooking, Handicrafting, Sewing, and Weaponsmithing. In order to learn a craft, you must find that craft’s expert from your race’s major city



Cooking


Make food or beverages that give buffs and purify contaminated materials.
* Recommended Class: All



Handicrafting



Make precious metals, wooden weapons and small parts.
* Recommended Class: Ranger and Chanter



Weapon Smith



Make matel weapons
* Recommended Class: Warrior series and Scout series



Armor Smith



Make metal armors, helmets and shields
* Recommended Class: Warrior series and Priest series



Sewing



Make cloth armor and leather armor
* Recommended Class: Scout series, Mage series and Priest series


Alchemy



Make potions, magical weapons and items can upgrade the equipments
* Recommended Class: All



also what i like to do is farm gear. Go into DP and farm anuhart sets or farm for tahabata weapons and then sell them. but with time you will learn the game more and adapt. ;]

and grind mobs within the same lvl as you or about max 5 lvls above you for more exp. you also can buy premium membership to help you get more exp. if you arent sure that you will be safe enough to kill higher lvl mobs, bring a tank with you or another class to help pwn mobs.

 

Farming is really just any repedative task to get anything. So if that means killing the same mob 100 times to get the drop you want, that is farming X mob. Or it can be gathering resources *shrugs* Really it is just different based on person and what game they came from.

Sadly I can't just give you a dictionary of all the terminologies because of that, but there are some general gaming terminiology dictionaries out there, just google them. Sadly like I said every game is different, and since everyone came from different games it is hard to say that one term means one thing.

 

I used to buy the level 30 AP gear from PvPing and then sell that but the new item.pak has kind of ruined those plans -__-

 

By the way, can someone please tell me what certain phrases stand for? Such as the following: AP, DP, Ping, ABG, EAT, and others?
P.S. If someone DID make a a dictionary of all gaming terminology separated by genre, that someone would make some serious dough.

 

AP stands for abysspoints, DP i dont know what the acronym stands for but you get it from killing mobs and eatting DP jelly and it lets you use some of your most powerful skills

ping is the latency you have with the server, the lower the better

ABG means Archon Brigade General which is the best gear you can get

EAT means Elite Archon Tribunis which is the second best gear you can get

 

in order: Abyss Points (Points rewarded for PvPing to get pvp gear),
Divine Points...basically stuff you get to use special skills it is the lowest bar beneath your HP and MP,
Ping=lag esentially type /ping it is a computer term for how long of a response time there is to the server,
Archon Brigade General (best gear for PvP currently),
Elite Archon Tribune (second Best PvP gear)

 

Is it Divine or Daeva Points?, i guess the 2nd one cause as we all r daevas

 

DP = Dark Poeta (instance; the entrance is in Heiron/Beluslan/Core)
DP = it can also mean Divine Power - if the bar is filled it unlocks special skills

Ping = internet speed or what (lagg?). If it's a big number like 600+ then it's bad. Mine is around 250. :U
ABG = archon brigade general (armor, weapons) - donation items, people say it's the best gear evar
EAT = elite archon tribunus armor/weapons

get the best internet connection you can
you can also try leatrix, with that I can get as low as 50-60 ping in low traffic areas

Awesome. Thanks everybody. One more thing though. People sell crap for several billion kinah, and the most kinah I've ever had is 17,000,000. Do people make this much simply off crafting?

 

The best way is to beg me kinah, but in a way that i will laugh to death.

I make the most money with selling manastones and rare anuhart items from the 'bugged' bosses. Crafting is also good, yea, but the other ways are less boring i think.

 

with the 1.9 version and the old item.pak we could trade the credits from voting and trade them for ABG parts or any other thing in Shop and sell it for huge amounts of kinah...

but now all that is untradable so u better keep your credits and get your own gear...

And yes u can get alot of money from Alchemy/Cooking cause most ppl need pots/scrools and the precisous food...

U could make some Dark Poeta too, get the loot and sold them in AH or participate in events cause such winners or loosers get a prize..
