That cannot be said for Afro Samurai, which actually did a damn good job of getting all of the information out in just FIVE episodes... crazy... Not like there was that much to tell, but w/e :D

Blade of the Immortal is a pretty awesome anime, the show only has 12 or 13 episodes, but the manga continues, Berserk is another greate, but you better have a strong stomache if you want to watch those.

That show is the closest thing to Hentai, that and Seikon No Qwaser, but then again, just about ever ecchi show that has been released in 2009/2010 is getting borderline with the content.

Of course that's only if you can find the uncensored versions of the episodes for these shows.

If you're interested in Murder/Mystery/Psychological horror themes; try these shows:

    Higurashi no naku koro ni

Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai

Higurashi no naku koro ni Rei

    Umineko no naku koro ni

I'm currently watching a Horror series called: "Monster" it's runs like 60-70+ episodes from what i can gather.

i loved anime a lot, i've spent loads of lifetime on it.
but after a long time i realised that most of them have fillers, lots of similarities etc etc
im more into manga right now :)

    *Frowns on Dubs*

Unless the show's script was actually cast specifically for American voice actors (Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a prime example) Dubs never hold true to the emotional verbalization the Japanese excel in, plus theirs simple some things that American voice actors can never grasp when transitioning with the Japanese voice actors/actresses lines, it may seem awfully trivial to even think about but if you watch enough of both (subs / dubs) you eventually see the flaws.

If you're someone who grow up on fan-subs alone, then all of a sudden watch a dub, it's like nails on a chalkboard.

Then again - personally, I'd have to watch it, i can't necessarily knock dubs the way i used to since the Japanese are now attempting to speak English in newer shows. (The NGE 1.11 / 2.22, etc. - re-makes are a recent account of this some-what awkward yet hilarious phenomenon) though it's nothing actually new, but it's still quite a discovery when you run into them.

    On-topic:

If the thread starter is still looking for some good anime, I'd try going to some of anime's roots just so you have a clear notion and possibly a better appreciation of how far eastern animation has come.

    Ranma 1/2
    Project AIKa
    Giant Robo
    Devilman
    Macross
    Shin Gegege no Kitarou
    Galaxy Express 999
    Space Pirate Captain Harlock
    Birdie the Mighty

I didn't want to go to old because it might bore you to death, the younger anime fans are so used to the bright and sharp high quality anime these days, that the great classics are so easily over-shadowed.

This one has her priorities straight.

Add Clannad, Kanon, Higashi no Eden, Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, and Toradora and you have about the ultimate anime 'to watch' list.
