My experiences with trying to obtain decent pvp gear..

You mean those who are new aren't important? You mean those who are "new" don't have an opinion or any say? You mean that because you probably already have a good and decent armor set that it doesn't faze you because your not involved in this issue.

I mean clearly all of which are right. Let me say something else as well, just because people are new to the server doesn't mean they don't know how to play an MMO that revolves around PVPing, or that they don't have prior experience with AION in general whether it was retail or another private server beforehand. So please define not being important, so that I may understand the meaning behind why you may think new comers are less important than you. It's obvious you believe that, because the issue doesn't apply to you. You think that your better than everyone else am I right?

The point of this thread was about two different things 1) that the progression is faltered and new players have nothing to work towards at level 55 other than pve gear in a pvp world. Or the fact that the best gear in the game was pulled out for donators only. This gear WAS indeed trad able until the abusers ruined it for everyone else who may be new to the server, and any new comer would LOVE to be able to have this gear (EAT or ABG) transferable. OR better yet where we can actually get this gear from progressing in the game itself rather than directly off the website.

That's the issue at hand, and if you failed to read my original post and fully understand it then that's on you, and then it would also mean that your post is not important because you clearly didn't understand.

Also , from my own experience here , ABG is overpowered.
I do all my freaking bar of skills and he get's like 500 dmg(glads/assassins) , not to mention my attack is 850+(85% of the time) , 920+(15%) of the time and crit strike over 630.
It's like I tought , if you want to play decent , you have to donate a shitload.
300$ is just too much for a game who can close in a few months due to no donations.
I got ****ed too many times buying coin items and stuff over all mmorpgs.
Get real people.

 

I agree with you there.. it's too expensive, and not worth the money without knowing that this place will be stable enough to run for years down the road. I much rather waste that money into subscriptions in the retail game that I know will be around as long as aion is around period. Even if it takes countless hours to level up, as well as grind to get that gear. The point is this server is meant to be a free server, but it's not. I can understand if they had these items on the website for donations, but as well had these items in game to be obtained as well. That way anyone who is lazy and doesn't want to work for it can just go pay the donation and get the gear. But then people like myself could actually spend time working towards the gear which in my opinion in the end is more rewarding.

I also understand that donations are needed to keep the server running, but there should be other methods of going about this other than screwing over half the player base. Defeating people in pvp area's can be fun, but only for so long until it gets boring when you realize you have nothing to work towards.

For those of you who are thinking "well why doesn't she just go play retail".. I have a retail bought game, but I am too cheap to pay into subscription fees when I am paying subscription fees on handful of other MMO's that I am currently playing as well. Beside's a grip of my friends play on this server, but most recently have quit due to the same problems I have listed here.

 

1- I use full anuhart armor. i got the ABG spear 2 weeks ago, by voting.

2- This is private server and they NEED, THEY REALLY NEED DONATIONS. If they make ABG tradeble again, people will stop donating and will make 1000 acounts and vote with all them and get full ABG in 1 mounth.

3- U DONT NEED TOP GEAR TO PVP, L2P!!!!!!!!!

4- YES U ARE NOT IMPORTANT! U are not new here, u knew ABG was tradeble soo u are not new and u are not worried about new ppl u are justing gettin ASSKICKED at pvp cuz u SRLY SUCK AT IT! New ppl will get here and play as the game is! they dont know before so they can't complain about this! they joying if they want!

5- IT'S NOT UNFAIR PEOPLE THAT DONATE GET ADVANTAGE!!! ITS THE WHOLE IDEIA OF DONATIONS!!!

6- Get a job to donate or just STFU and live with it!

3. No, but you need a decent set to be effective in anything that matters. And losing to some scrub because he borrowed his parents money and has gear that is impossible to get is frustrating.

4.New blood is one of the most important things to a private server, I'm new, started about 7 days ago, and I know ABG/EAT used to be tradeable, anyone that can half read would know that (though you can only half type, so eh)

5. The whole idea of donations is to support the server, yes, generally you get something in return, however it's supposed to be a shortcut to circumvent some play time, not straight up giving you the best gear in the game that is unobtainable any other way, that's just ****ing retarded.

6. I'm going to college full time, and I have enough trouble as is paying that. Must be nice begging your parents for money eh?

I donated about 5 bucks last night just to go ahead and get the rest of the credits I need for premium. I am not going to waste 20 bucks on something as silly as one piece of gear for one character.

"5". You really can't get ABG by medals, so yeah, not sure what you're after there.

6. Who say's I do? My point is, some people legitimately have things to pay, and would rather earn their gear, but when it's unobtainable other than donating stupid amounts or waiting almost a year, then yeah, something is wrong.

You can run a server with donations of shit anyone can get in a game. You must be new to private servers or something. It's hard to believe anyone is this stupid.

 

No he's just ignorant, and for some reason wants an argument otherwise he would have not entered the thread immediately throwing around insults. So, instead of stoop to his level of immaturity.. I am going to ignore it, but comment on the fact that anyone whom believes that a server can only last off of pulling out the best gear in game for donations is wrong. There are several private servers that don't do this, and are successful. However their exp rates suck, and it's why I don't bother.

Also the comment that was made about having no job.. You don't know me, and what would make you think that I don't have one? The point is I am not going to throw away 300 dollars towards gear that is meaningless on a server that may not be around forever.

He obviously missed the point of the thread. It had nothing to do with the fact that I wanted gear handed to me, or that I wanted the ABG/EAT to be equal to the other pvp gear.. or that I am too "poor with no job" to afford the ABG gear.. or that I "suck" at PVP. The point of this thread was clearly stated, and instead of repeat myself.. I'll let whomever may be confused to re-read my original post, because obviously there is some confusion going on.

 

I completely agree with Asphyxiate, and anyone else supporting this thread.

The only reason I haven't left is friends(everyones reason). I met newcomers often in the legion or just ingame that have very hard time adapting to the servers economy and leave.

I'm happy to say I'm +15 A. Set Plus Weapons. I'm Decent with ping, gear, also skills.

I can't donate to a server that isn't really worth it. I'll rather have that money go towards retail or turtle bank :3

I'm still currently looking for a better server as well. Til then I wait for the best.:annoyed:

 

That's kinda questionable, Infinite is doing very well with minimal donations to offer and they are a very large server and just below us in site ranks. I just don't like how they are planning to wipe (not sure if they are still doing this, been over a year). But I will say, they are one damn good server, but something about this community I like, that makes me stay.

Still, maybe the wrong here is that its THE BEST GEAR that you are paying for. Having a donation policy makes sure that the server last longer, cause owners have a reason to invest real life time in keep it up and running, however the items sold cant be the ones that are impossible to get in retail game... and only a insignificant number of blessed can have. (here, most players have it)

Whatever solution it might exist to address this issue, it wont be made because it could happen that people will loss their money and effectively kill the server... I could be wrong though.

Sadly at this point the issue lands in play here or not play here... Those who invested money wont leave cause the money they spent... and the new ones unless they can pay will eventually leave... with no fresh blood the server its doomed either way in a long time perspective...

There are enough items people are willing to donate for that won't make a huge difference like this one.. Usually PvP servers make it so by PvPing you get stronger, so everyone has a reason to pvp? .. here you won't get anything out from it so old people leave of boredom, new players can't keep up with whoever stays.

The way it is now i wouldnt even have to login and get the best gear available by voting or donating, seems odd to me on a PvP server.
