Event Name: The Battle For The Abyss

Event Description: Basically, it's a mixture of PvE elements such as boss fights, 50v50 RvR and Kill the GM.

Players will each have 50 Members for each side, with one GM who acts as the players General. The object is to get into the other players base and kill their GM. This won't be as easy as it sounds though, as various NPC's will be guarding the Fortress and you will have to get through them first! There will be secrets as well, hidden mobs that if killed can then reduce the defense of the opposite side! The GM will fight back when endangered.

Rules: No Kisks/Obelisks in the enemies bases. Anything else goes. Pots/DP Skills/ Flying/ etc. All ok.

    Number of GMs Required:
    2+

    Prize Suggestion:
    Winners: 2 Silver Medals
    Losers: 50million Kinah

I would love any feedback the players think about this event. In essence it's basically AV which was a BG from World Of Warcraft and one of the best PvP based BG's in my opinion.

I feel this event would be fun for players because it's not just as simple as killing the other side. It requires teamwork as there would need to be offensive and defensive on both teams to make sure your team was successful. For example, some members of each team should probably stay behind to guard the GM should the other team come in and start killing the NPCs. It will require strategy as well as the NPC's in the fortress's won't be a walk in the park at all. (Most likely Guardian Deity's and a few other strong ones.) As stated above there will also be special NPC's that when killed will cause the defense to break in the opposite sides fortress which will make things easier for the team.

We as the AM's and AMT's are always trying to come up with clever and neat event ideas to keep the fun times going here on GamezAion so this is in hopes that it will be something you as the players might enjoy. What say you, players?

Sounds very thrilling. Hopefully it'll end up being well thought out and not a complete failure :s

I hope this event ends up being a fun, common event that all players enjoy :D
    Lame prize though.

Well in my opinion events aren't supposed to be about prizes. They are a way for the GM's to entertain the players through something different. While we can't let you go away from an event empty handed we don't want to be giving out freebies either. :p

This is something the majority of staff feels.

I like the event, but IMO the winners should get at least a gold medal or two.

reminds me of Albull's the obliveration of the abyss. It was a horrid event, no one liked it, and it got me into trouble with Alan for criticizing its stupidity -.-

    True true.

Events are made for enjoyment :p Prizes are just a bonus. Also, i dont know if you'd think this is a good idea or not.. but,

Instead of starting 50 asmo's in one section, and 50 elyos in another, i was thinking it might be fun if there were groups of 10 - 15 or w/e spread throughout the event zone.

50v50 all at once gets old, and ends too quick :/
    Just an idea.

I wasn't around when Albull was so you would know better about that. But I will make sure to try my best and make sure it's fun for the players. Heck, even if it isn't it was worth a shot and it's something different.

That's not a bad idea either. But it's not exactly 50v50 as it's basically assault the other teams base. It's up to the players if they want to leave a few groups behind to protect the GM, though.

Well, it just ended up being boring. And back then, the rewards weren't worth it. Most people (elyos) just left and accepted the losing reward which was high also.

    Prizes are still being discussed.
Grand prizes are for bigger events, we do not want to hand out a remodel for a 50 vs 50 for everyone single person nor hand out 1b kinah to every player or anything extremely out of the box.
This will make it more fair for newcomers as well, they won't have to keep begging for money since everything costs so much.

Events are mainly to be enjoyed, not for the GMs to hand out packages and later having a long run of complaints about the economy of why 100 credit is worth 100b kinah.

Just look at it this way:

Normal Events (Events that get hosted often) - Common prizes under strict control.
Medium Events (Events that do not get hosted often) - A bit more common prizes, but still under control.
Grand Events (Events that rarely get hosted or requires lots of effort) - Big prizes such as remodels, large scale amount of common prizes, but not over the board.

Losers will need to step up their game or they get nothing.
