I wouldn't recommend getting a heatsink at all unless you intend to overclock your CPU.Your stock will do just fine

And I wouldn't recommend that heatsink either if you were going to overclock. If your intreasted, I'm using a Thermalright Ultra True Black, you might want to take a look at it.

That heatsink is a bit overkill for the average gamer :D.

Yes you shouldn't pick 2 cards in an SLI over a better card.

You should get a single card that's faster and better. The thing about SLI is that if 1 card = 100, u don't necessarily get 2 cards = 200. Very often, depending on the software support, you get 2 cards = 150, or even worse than that if the software do not make use of the SLI technology.

I would also pick CrossFireX over SLI for 1 important reason. CrossFireX allow you to pair up 2 cards of different series. Example: Radeon HD 6800 series with Radeon HD 5800 series. SLI will not allow this.

If you buy GeForce GTX 470 by EVGA, you'll have to use a GTX 400 series in the future, should you decide to upgrade.

Hence, I would go for a ATI Radeon HD 6800 series by a major brand. Such as XFX/Sapphire Radeon HD 6850. In 1 year when the 7000 series comes out you'll have to option to buy and have them linked in a CrossFireX.

Also if u're planning on having upgrading space for the future. It's IMPORTANT to get a good Power Supply. 600Watts is the bare minimum for a single Radeon HD 6800 series card.

Anyways, Alente you have a great setup so far in mind for a very good gaming experience and longevity (other then the GPU GTS440).

I know your on a budget and not out for a bench marking machine, most people that try to help might not see that.

Being a PC builder myself i think you will be very happy with everything you listed granted you ditch the dual GTS440 and go with 1 GTX470 (with option of getting another later to SLI). You can always do upgrades and ad ons at any time such as bigger and fancier heatsinks/fans/LEDs/RAM and such, but you have the basic needs down for your gaming needs :).

There's absolutely ZERO need for a good CPU if it's just for gaming. Unless u wanna run 8 clients and photoshop and 3D studio max and rendering videos all at the same time, while leaving background programs like music players and MSN to run at the same time.

Yap, too many people cant tell the difference between gamers and bench markers extremest :D.

Most just get the best JUST to show off but yet have no clue what they have or what its use for much less do anything to even remotely take advantage of its power.

Its like building and using this for normal every day use,
