Just an introduction

Hello there folks! I just wanted to introduce myself, as I just joined the forum today. I haven't yet finished installing updates and figuring out all the ins and outs of connecting to the server, but I'm hoping it'll go by without a hitch, and I hope to see some of you online soon!

I have been an avid gamer nerd basically since I got my Atari at age four, though for the past few years I've gone more the way of PC gaming than console. I do have a couple consoles, but if it's a game that comes on PC as well, I'd rather hook up my Xbox 360 gamepad and play it here than on the television for some reason haha.

I am schizophrenic and quite odd, though I will add I have no tendencies towards anything resembling violence or anger in the slightest, so there is no reason to worry about 'the crazy guy losing his marbles' over anything anyone says here My strange form of crazy fortunately seems to provide my friends and loved ones with much more entertainment than it does worry, so all is good in life.

I am 33, I'm eight years married, and my wife is truly my best friend, for which I am eternally grateful.

I live for music, literature, photography, video games, science (especially quantum mechanics, string theory, etc), etc.

I have been playing World of Warcraft pretty much since it came out, and when I tried the Aion 5 hour (really? 5 hours?) trial, I fell in love with the graphics, though I must admit I didn't get to really play enough to see how good the game itself really is. I'm quite hopeful from what I've seen though!

I did a little research into private servers before joining one, and I joined this particular forum/group for two reasons: I found the most comprehensive help with the least amount of headache, and I found that there just seemed to be fewer arguments, flame wars, etc, and I just get the impression the atmosphere here is one of openness and friendliness, which was refreshing to see!

So long as I can get logged in properly, I will be meeting some of you soon in-game I am sure. I hope all are well!

Here would be something to think on then as you set things up.

1. Servers - There are 2 servers.
a. Siel - Older server with stronger players and legion. Larger crowds as well. Economy is also hard though, with the players being veterans msotly and all.

b. Lumiel - 3 Months old server. Starting to catch up on Siel. Less items going around. Smaller population. Upside is, you can actually catch up faster (possibly).

2. Asmo or Elyos
a. Asmos are Beastly in looks, dark is what some call it. Population is approximately 60%-70% of Elyos, meaning, their numbers are far less and gets mob a lot. But Asmos have coped with skill and strategy to fight back the Large and strong Elyos population.

b. Elyos are the human side. Nice to dress up, eye candies (Elyo chix FTW). population is definitely larger than the Asmo's, thus, you will always have company and dont have to pvp alone or learn to survive a gangbang making sure you take a head or 2 of their party before dying.

3. Class - I suggest try em all out and see whats best for you, balance in Aion is quite good. or so to say. but below are a few details.

Warriors:
Templar - Tanker with nice heals, great in surviving and can be a killer if played correctly.

Gladiator - Damage dealer, has good HP and Damage, a few self heals. Wide range of weapon choices. Good defense against both physical and magic.

Priests:
Clerics - Healers of the game, has a bit of magical talent but their major plus is with their debuffs and pure damage summons.

Chanters: Stun locks! heals! Mantra Auras! balanced type of character. Chain armored.

Scouts:
Rangers - Moderate damage, fast skill spam. A good ranger will finish a fight without a scratch if played correctly with his/her stuns, silence, poisons, traps and kiting.

Asassin - King of Crits, fastest atk speed in game, has multiple impale type skills and decent damage. poison, stuns, silence, etc.

Mage:
Spirit Master - transforms everything to something else then kills them with joy and feeds them to his/her pets. if your were not transformed by one, im sure you are either slowed, sleeping, or dead.

Sorcerers - Heavy damaging spells, can i hit even glads. In every game we know sorcerers are there to kill you in seconds and you will only defeat them if they did not do so. LOL. small hp though.

 

On Lumiel its the other way around as there are more asmos than elyos on that server...
