    Tomes are sexier anyways. Orbs bore me. But I do use an orb on the Sorcerer that I never friggin' use.... Tome on my spiritmaster that I never use.....

    Orbs got more DPS and melee range basic attack
    Tomes got more magic accuracy and a 15m ranged basic attack

    Depends on your equi what you should go for ^^

    If you just want high DPS go for Orb
    If you want to be able to fight vs MR go for Tome

    I got both on my sorc and i switch alot during fights

    try to get 2.8k boost with food but without skill "magic boost" get some hp to about 9.5k , MA to 1.5k & resist to 1.6k . it doesn't matter orb or book with that stats )))
