Aion terminology

So, I've been walking around with all these people using tiny little abbreviations to explain things to eachother. It makes me generally feel like the village idiot, but I decided I should ask for a few clarifications and others I don't know about.

Like these:

DP - obviously Dark poeta or the DO gauge
FT - unsure
Jumpshot - is this a skill? Not even sure if this should be here
Kiting - I am thinking this is a skill too?
AoE - dunno
Dredge - Dredgion
Carebear - ...people who care for others?
pot - um...reefer? (actually, I'm thinking buff or something)


...and a few others that I definitely forgot right about now. 8D;; get me in, guys.

OH and QQ...sounds like an airship gun gone bad. :\

 

DP -Dark poeta
FT - Not sure either xD
Jumpshot - iWhen you jump and you cant see the skill acting but you still get the shot. Rangers only
Kiting - Also known as Hit&Run, sequence of jumpshots as well
AoE - Area atack, when you have 2or more guys and you can hit them all with one skill (Example, Arrow storm)
Carebear - Thats just messing with you .. A cute way to tell dirty things ^^
pot - Potion

 

kiting i believe is when you skill and run at the same time for bonus dmg parry etc.
clerics should be kiting, sadly most of them dont xP

FT= Fire Temple
Jumpshot = when you jump inbetween skills to moreso avoid the animation and to perform a skill faster. Look up youtube videos.
Kiting= is basically moving around lots, trying to stay away, but jumping in to attack, and then back out. And the bonus of what regi saids. And being hit as minimal as possible. Youtube
AoE= Area of Effect. Mostly skills that affect several people around you. Like for instance Seismic Wave skills for gladiators
Carebear= -points at urban dictionary- cuz I can
pot= potion

yes FT is Fire Temple and DP can be Dark Poeta or the third bar in your HUD below mana. I think it might stand for Damage Points, Deavic Power, or something like that......it must be filled to use certain skills.
Carebear = is a term used for players that do not or will not PvP to play and/or gain AP points (aka Instance Whores). I don't like either term but this is for information only.

 

To be honest I was the same exact way before I started playing Aion. You know those funny WoW videos like the Leeroy Jenkins one of the DOTs one with the foreign guy who rages about more dots...... Those videos made em laugh but when they were talking about AOE and all that I had NO IDEA what they were talking about it was like another language to me. .....And now that I play Aion I understand most if not all things people say.....It's kind of embarrassing when I can sit there and listen to those videos again and know exactly what they are talking about. ;__;
