8 Classes, 4 Armor Groups, 2 Races, 1 Each

Don't be fooled by the title, this isn't a thread about math :wink:

Greetings! I am a new Alice falling into this rabbit hole :biggrin:
Fairly new to this game, so I decided to try out ALL classes. Yep, you heard me right, all 8 of them!

Let's see...there's a total of 8 classes, 4 armor groups (2 classes each), 2 opposing races, 1 race per account...which means I have to create 2 accounts, 4 chars in each account with no repeating armor group in each account.

Like this:
[In each account, 4 characters]
1 Plate Armor Class (Templar/Gladiator)
1 Chain Armor Class (Cleric/Chanter)
1 Light Armor Class (Ranger/Assassin)
1 Robe Armor Class (Sorcerer/Spiritmaster)

Thus, the big question is...*drum-rolls*...how to pair-up the class <-> race for best result?

From my analysis based on skill info from www.aionarmory.com, it seems that:

Plate Armor

Gladiator:
- Asmo DP skills are self-centered, while Elyos DP skills are ranged! But Asmo's has higher maximum target limit.
- DP 4000 skills: Asmo has 90% dmg + 10% phy def, Elyos get 80% dmg + 30% phy def.

Asmo has better DP 4000 skill...I'll take 10% more dmg vs 20% more pdef anyday, because pdef doesn't work against magic dmg.
Elyos has better ranged+aoe damage skills...why? because it's unlikely that there's enough enemy for the maximum hit limit of self-centered aoe.
Hard to decide...how about the Templar side?

Templar:
- Elyos get stun, Asmo gets absorb HP;
- Elyos get immune to attack for 15s, Asmo get -50% dmg for 15s;

I prefer Elyos stun...

Plate Armor Conclusion:
Does the Elyos's immune to attack for 15s also works for physical skills and magic attack/spells? How about the asmo's -50% dmg, does it work for magic damage too?
Elyos seems better for both Glad and Templar...
No clue...any suggestion/idea?

Chain Armor
Cleric:
No significant difference between races...
Conclusion: Undecided, let's see Chanter:

Chanter:
No significant difference either...
Conclusion: Not much difference...

Chain Armor Conclusion: How to even decide on this one? I can't see any significant difference between them...

Light Armor
Assassin:
Not much difference between races...the only different is Elyos DP skill will heal, while the Asmo will do more damage. The rest of the higher level skills are all the same.

Elyos has a Spelldodging which makes you resist 2 spells in 10sec, but -50% patk Asmo instead get a +100% patk, but -50% eva and =500% mresist in 10%
Conclusion: Seriously prefer's asmo, that +100% patk is just too delicious compare to resist 2 spells. That's what assassin do anyway: sneak in -> kill target -> run or die later :lol:

Ranger:
Totally same skills...no difference.
Except the Mau Form: Asmo has higher dmg, lower atkspd, Elyos higher atkspd, lower dmg.
Conclusion: prefers Asmo for higher dmg in Mau form.

Light Armor Conclusion:
That +100% patk is too delicious *yummy* for asmo, as an assassin.
Light Armor Conclusion: Asmo = Assassin, Elyos = Ranger.
Unless you have a better argument?


Robe Armor
Sorcerer:
Elyos has a self-buff that increase skill dmg and accuracy, Asmo gets -50% cast speed.
Elyos = better dmg/mana ratio due to +dmg, good for PvE
Asmo = faster casting...which is critical for PvP...
Conclusion: Hmm...I prefer PvP

Spiritmaster:
Like, totally same...
Conclusion: Not much difference...

Robe Armor Conclusion:
Sorcerer = Asmo, Spiritmaster = Elyos



After some rough analysis, here's what I got:

Templar: Elyos
Gladiator: Asmo

Cleric: ??
Chanter: ??
Seems no difference...need help on this one, maybe I missed something out?

Ranger: Elyos
Assassin: Asmo

Sorcerer: Asmo
Spirit Master: Elyos


What do you think?

Oh, and some quick questions:
1) In this server, can we send items to character of different race?
2) Probably a dumb question...but can we create 2 races in one account?
3) What's the difference between Siel and Lumiel Server?

As you said, clerics have no significant difference between races

1. You can't send them through the mail, but you can transfer items between your asmodian and elyos characters.
2. Kinda answered in 1, you can use both races on one account.
3. Siel is the first Gamez server around, so it has the highest population, things cost more etc. Lumie is still rather new, but it's been around for a few months now as well. You'll find more pvp and stuff in Siel..

Just got everything properly installed and logged into the game, Siel seems really very crowded, guess I'll give Lumiel a try right after this XD

I see that this server has a "credit" and "VIP" system and it seems that it's related to "voting" somehow...I installed the item.pak provided, and I read the Vote page on www.gamezaion.com...but I still feel liking missing out a lot of info.

I did a search, there's too many results even if I limit the search to Gamez Aion forum section only.
There seems to be issue of "multi-voter"?

Is there a guide on voting/VIP/itemmall(where the hell is it anyway, lol)/credit?
About that "multi-voter",
- what if I have 2 account, and vote on 1 char at each account within 12-hours? Will I get hit by the banhammer?
- what if I have only 1 account, but 1 char on Siel, another at Lumiel? Can I vote for both char within 12 hours?

Very confusing...and I still don't know where to look for itemmall?

I saw 5 empty fields for filling in character's name....do I need to vote for all 5 to receive reward? or I will get banned if I press more than 1 vote button there?

Sorry, but this VIP/credit/vote thingy is quite a new concept to me...

 

you can vote 5 times np

and u need to log in with ur account. that way you can spend credits/buy premium etc

 

on that server assassins will sneak uin -> die... no way to do anything hiting 100 on gladiators...while they hit u 6k...

 

forgot to mention that siel is vastly overpopulated with elyos and lumiel is vastly overpopulated with asmos kinda kills the purpose lol

@maskedbr sins arent the only1s every week theres an update that completely screws up balance in 1 way or another xD so u never know which class will be strong/weak in a few days

1 thing is certain and thats rangers being the only class to never get a nerf (unlike the rest). glads and rangers r by far the most populated classes on either server

yeah at least u get enough people to hunt lol. elyos always move as a big group vs 1 xD u wont get many kills there

 

asmo glad has better aoes, better 4k dp, and i think its passives are better

 

yeah even 2 sin vs 1 glad u have just 50% chance to win ) i need to test with 3 sin to see if he can manage

 

asmos are sexier. nuff said.

 

they should seriously fix the percent symbol on these forums lol i miss the old ones...things actually worked, posts got combined and sigs didnt waste as much space as they do here, special symbols in titles didnt cause internal server errors...

Premium is basically like a basic account except it has boosted rates, VIP is even higher boosted rates, but you can also trade untradable items such as PvP gear and other items. Premium once you get it, lasts a lifetime, while VIP only lasts 30 days. As a VIP user, you can trade untradables to non VIP users, but they can't trade untradables back. Each of these costs 1500 credits.

Multi-voters made a few dozen accounts and voted on all of them to obtain things in game, after realizing it Carl made a counter measure system which detects if people are voting on multiple accounts, and zeros there credits on all there accounts.

The item mall is on the main website gamezaion.com .. just sign into your user CP, and click on Add Items:

As to the voting, you can only vote on one account. When you enter your character name when you vote, it uses that account; so any character on that account will work. Only use one account though, or it'll be considered multi voting. You can only vote on one IP per 12 hours also. Also with that, if you have one account you can vote a total of 5 times (once per option) every 12 hours, so if you split say, 3 votes on your siel character, two on your lumiel character, that would work.. but you can't vote 5 times per character in a 12 hour period.

You can vote on all five options like I said up there but only once per 12 hours. ^^

I'll only poke when the info is not explicitly stated, or the search result is too confusing/many =) But thanks for the offer anyway!

I took a look into the "itemmall"....Wow! Even armors and pets can be bought by credits!
So...does that imply there's no other way to obtain those items/pets in-game? Like, crafting?

Sorry if the way I write it make some of you misunderstood. But by all means, you guys can keep the discussion going, it doesn't bother me at all XD
I intend to try out all classes no matter if the class sucks or not, just want to figure out "which race go with which class".
The other objective, is so that in the end, I'll be able to view all armors and skill animation of all class, BWAHAHAHAHA *evil grins*
Aion is gorgeous, especially after I follow the guide to tweak the system.ovr to make the graphic looks better....forget the link...it's inside the guide section, search for "system.ovr"!

I just hope that there's an item/buff that can make our attack and casting speed slowed by, say, 200-400%, so that we can enjoy the animation properly ^^


EDIT: So...any point to do crafting in this game? Coz I just saw all those super armors sold by credit in the User CP...

 

That is exactly what it means, for most of the armors in any case.

Most useful sets, and even remodel sets are unobtainable because none of the instances drop them.
