Updates

Hello.

I would like to suggest to dev (Evilset) the possibility to maybe deliver just one update at a time, not a batch... The reason is quite simple, even thougn i think its awesome that you try to make the server better as fast as you can, its also true that you are the only one doing the job... So in a sense of work methodogy, mistakes and overlook of things will always be present.

But maybe if you focus on only one update at a time, maybe you can see if this update works in every sense.. and avoid the issues and extra fixes that come later.

Well its only a suggestion, I also work in projects and its awful when you have your hands full and things dont go as expected.

already said this earlier easier to fix ur mistakes than delivering a chunk of screwed up code and then having to look through all of it to find whats causing it

anyways the public test server that we have now should allow this to happen and prevent screwing up the live servers with "lets see what happens" updates

 

Actually, he's not the only one deving, but that's another story.. But one at a time.. Idk about that, for there's many things in which needs to be fixed.

 

yes but look at the current quality of updates we r getting. look at how much unrelated crap breaks with every update. u cant call it progress if u fix 1 thing and break 2 more. its better to do it 1 at a time, but do it right. he can test them 1 at a time on the public test server if he needs to

personally i think moving slowly in a good direction is better than the gambling we r doing now

 

We can't upgrade and restart server for one bug. Otherwise we can restart server every 2-3 hours.
But don't worry now we will fully test on test server and then apply to Gamez servers.

 

can u make a npc that makes u lvl 55 on testserver lol...

actually u can restart every 2-3 hours, thats exactly why it is a test server. do u really find it easier to apply a patch of 20 things and when 1 is causing half the server to break down, having to look over all the 20 things u just edited? wouldnt it be easier to know which 1 is doing it and fixing it by itself?

@marchee not a good idea coz if things involving leveling up get bugged, ull never figure it out until it ruins the live server
