    none whatsoever, its a popularity contest as these past few days, friends how should i say it...rep the crap out of each other :p

    if u notice the top reputations, they jumped by 1k in 2 days (where the all time high since the creation of the forums was 3k or so)

    people suddenly found out how to rep and r repping each other back and forth to raise it :p

    the thanks have a lot more meaning is its more obvious and visible. tbh most of the people that need help here r new and dont use the thanks button anywys (some do but none of them know wtf the reputation is or that there even is a button for it)

    rep is actually very important and it means a lot :| its a way to show just how loved you are around here, also a very nice nifty way to leave people secret messages as "I love you, please have my babies"...

    well not really. all it takes is u and ur few friends that nobody ever heard of reping each other back and forth for a few days and ur gonna beat a mod whos been here for a year :p

    hint: guess where that "reputation farmers" user group came from, guess what they r doing :p

    you can clearly tell when thats the case though, obviously when you compare join dates, post count, and thanks to rep you get more of an idea if the person actually means diddly squat around here

    tbh its ur reputation among poeple that matters, people know how helpful u really r, the "little green bars" cant take that away
