Rumors...or are they? You tell me :p

Alright guys, here's 2 rumors I heard about Aion...I am playing alone, and only on NA client so I don't know...those who played other clients too, you can tell me

Rumor #1

NA version is a censored version. KR and JP versions don't have "darkened/shadowed"-version of "sensitive" parts.

Is that true?


Rumor #2

Everyone knows about System.ovr, we use it on GamezAion so that we can fly freely, most of us have tuned it to our preferences.

Most people thought it can only affect cosmetic/graphics stuff...but actually it can:
a) Increase your view range, so that you can see further than other people. [This is no secret, and not just a rumor]
b) There's one more setting which affect view: FOV (Field of View), so that you can see more stuff on your screen.

Default setting for FOV is around 55-60.
Most of the people who played around with it, kept it between 75-120, because they are just normal human beings.
Those who goes more than 120 is either crossed-eyes/superhuman/alien-from-Mars or...abuser. Why?
While most people thought b) can only make you see more things on your screen,
- most of them didn't notice
- some of them feel it, but not very sure, or just shrug it aside
- few actually knows, but not telling anyone
- even fewer actually got banned due to it, and at the same time didn't even know why...

Well, again, I am playing alone, I can't tell if both rumors are true...

- for those who played other version of Aion, please answer me on #1.

Woah I like that Rumor # 1. Especially when using female characters. (evil laugh)

 

1. dunno.
2. not true. g_minfov command acts same way as cg_fov for quake (as you mentioned - affects your field of view), but side effect of this is your "feeling" of you being faster. (also this command cannot be used in system.ovr, not saved when you close client and should be typed directly in console).
