no big deal lol, 250-300 is very normal around here. in fact, be happy with it xD

if u wanna drop ur ping u can try the laetrix latency fix (free) or battleping (paid)
however ur ping is like 0.25 seconds delay which isnt that tragic

there r people here with pings like 500, 800 and more

the difference being that laetrix latency fix isnt an application :p it modifies 2 of ur registry values lol

lol looked it up, its not fasterping but ping faster and its pretty much identical to battleping as u connect through another server :p

For reference: ping stability = latency.

    Causes of bad latency:

    • On a wireless network. If you're on one, you shouldn't be gaming. To fix, go corded.

    • Crowded area. Aion doesn't seem to give network processes priority over game processes. So if you're in a crowded area your ping will suffer. To fix, get a gaming NIC.

    • Crappy ISP. Fairly common. To fix just contact the ISP and work out a solution, if that doesn't work switch to a better one.

    • Download bandwidth. Although playing games doesn't require a very high bandwidth connection, you may need one. If other applications are hogging the bandwidth, (such as downloading files) you may want a stronger connection.

There are many many causes of bad latency, to name, those are just a few of several hundred. Also, please stop comparing Leatrix's Latency fix with programs like Battleping.

Leatrix's Latency fix disables Nagle's Algorithm (something older networks needed to prevent packet loss.)

Battleping connects you to a (preferably) close-by server, then connects you to the actual game server. The reason this is done is because without Battleping there are, on average, about 19 hops from different destinations. Even if you're 20 miles from the server, your packets may travel over 3,000 miles to find the server. Programs such as Battleping re-route your connection to the game server in the best way possible to find the closest packet route possible.

Depends how far you are from the wireless point.

    Wireless waves = radio waves (178.816 m/s).

    Corded = Speed of light (299,792,458 m/s).

    Figure the rest out yourself.

I rather use my own method. Try and see whats happends....
In my case I have the same ping, so my verdict stays the same.
Tbh I dont really think radio waves v.s speed of light make that much of a difference when I have the whole atlantic sea
between my laptop and the server.
