A little help pls.

My room mate wants to play AION and I don't want to install the game with the NCSoftLauncher or with an install. I copied the AION game folder to a removable Hard Drive and gave it to him. But when he starts the Gamez Launcher from it the Game crashes at the loading screen. A friend of mine did something similar but he also downloaded the NCSoftLauncher on the other machine and selected the aion.bin file there. And he made it work without installing the game again. Or at least that's what he told me. Can someone help me?

 

yes its as he said. u need the ncsoft launcher, u need to set it to north america and add aion manually (it wont see it)

just right click the aion in the not installed section -> properties -> browse for the bin file of ur copy pasted aion so it sees it. then u can run the game just fine

 

I tried the external hard drive on my desktop and it always crashed for me. Unless someone else has a fix it looks like you're gonna have to use the NCSoft launcher.

 

I forgot the part with the NA. Let me give it a try.

 

Well has your friend tried repairing the game using ncsoft launcher? Check also if our gamezlauncher is downloaded in the right location whilst uploading it to ur hard drive some of the files mightve become corrupt )

 

there are registry keys set by ncsoft launcher as well, you cant directly copy aion folder. also if you reinstall the OS and keep files you wont be able to run it.

 

It is set to NA so that's not a problem. I will try to repair it. Maybe it helps. If not then there's nothing else to do but the painful and long NCSoft install...

 

gamershell patch 2.0.0.2 is quite fast. here, in Bulgaria i dled it for like an hour. then updating with NCSoft for 10mins.

 

repair and reinstall gamez launcher should fix it

if not u can always try get directx 9.0c and stuff if its a dx issue

 

Nah the dx issue is one fo my favorite ones I know that this is a simple crash and burn effect no warning nothing just crash. But I will try with the repair and reinstal gamezcleint. And if it's no going to work. Well then I will install it the usual way.
