Either we're new to Aion or we just can't find our character suitable for the way we rock and roll, we all ask the same question: Which class should I take? What class would suit my personality best?

Now I'm one of those indecisive folks who migrate from one class to another, until I've finally found a class that suited my style. I don't want everyone else to have the same problem too, hence initiating this guide.

Do you want to play solo, dealing great damage upon your enemies? Or are you laid back, and feels that a group effort is better than flying on your own? Read on so you'll discover what you really want to do in Aion!

WARRIOR CLASSES - When you love keeping it real and simple, here you go.

    Gladiator
If you like to CHARGE, and I mean CHARGE, and just whack your enemies silly with that huge polearm of yours, then the gladiator is the right path for you. Gladiators are a flexible class. Being able to use different weapons makes this class the most versatile one there is in the game. Tired of chasing your enemies? Switch to a bow and shoot that guy to death! This class is good if you like raiding alone, or if you want to be the on the frontlines of the group.

    Templar
This class is the most defensive class in the game. Any group will love you. Templars can bodyguard the squishier classes, tank an entire hoarde of enemies [when properly paired with cleric of course], and annoy magic users with their skill Aether armour [+800 mresist]. Want to deal damage? Switch your mace and shield to a greatsword and go RAWR on your enemies. If you want to be the toughest guy in town, and you're going to be hard to take down, then take the road of Templar.

SCOUT CLASSES - You just want it to be done fast, and they won't even know what hit them.

    Ranger
If you like it quick, and you want to deal damage to anyone in an average of 30m away from you, then this is your class. Rangers run, shoot, and kill. Simple as that. Most of the ranger's skills have no skill cast time, and they shoot targets three times per second! Armed with debuff arrows and the formidable Mau form, rangers collect kills faster than you can target them.

    Assassin
These are sneaky, cunning, and downright dirty. If you like to ninja on people, killing them before they'd even know them, then here's the class for you. Armed with poisons and stuns, assassins' favourite prey would be the squishier classes. Speed is your ally, and high ping will be your greatest enemy.

MAGE CLASSES - So fragile, yet so dangerous.

    Sorcerer
One of the biggest misconceptions on sorcerer is that they're fragile, when in fact they have about 8 defense skills which involve damage absorption for up to 20k or jumping 30m away from the attacker. Dealing the greatest damage in the game, they can two-shot or one-hit KO anyone when played right. If you want to kill, and kill fast, then this class is for you. Buffs will be your best friend, and even if you do kill that brigade general from the other side of town, you will continue to fight your neverending battle against cast time.

    Spiritmaster
This class is well-known for instilling FEAR upon their enemies. But then again, that's not the core of how a spiritmaster should be played. The ability to summon spirits and servants, removing magical buffs while dealing damage on the enemy, and the fear [of course] all makes the spiritmaster, and with lower cast time than the former class. If you like Pokemon, and if you like debuffing targets, this is the class for you. Groups will love you since you can be ground control, damage dealer, and tank [yes, tank. -cough - spirits].

PRIEST - The maker of any great party.

    Chanter
The chanter is a simple class, balanced in a way that you can support an entire group while dealing formidable damage. One will always love a good chanter in a group with their great mantras, words of inspiration and healing here and there while beating enemies with a stick [okay, it's a staff, but it's still a stick]. So if you like to support people while getting to kill a few enemies on your own too, chanter is the best class for you.

    Cleric
A full support class armed with enough healing skills to keep a group alive for the longest possible duration, the cleric is a class any group would be thankful to have. Now can you kill? Probably not. Clerics don't have much damage-dealing skills, and they deal low damage. This class is for those who love to play defense in a football field. One of the most difficult classes to take down, the cleric never always seems to die.

I hope this guide helped you choose the class you want to make! Good luck and have fun!

    Note:
All classes + high ping = you will fail. Have the lowest ping at all costs. Try using Leatrix Latency Fix and/or Battleping.

All classes will need a lot of skill to master. Just because you're not good at your class YET doesn't mean it's not the class for you. If you like it, stick with it a little longer. You'll get good at it when time and practice collide.

    Good luck!

Gladiators and Rangers need not apply.

Rofl. There's a great abundance of them in the server. Far too great.
