Designs/Materials/Crafting-related Stuff

I am considering crafting...usually I hate crafting, but this one question makes me wonder if I should start crafting in this game: Is crafted weapon/armor the best for PvP?

How about this: If I crafted my way to the top, can I trade those crafted items for the best gears in PvP?

Please help answer this!



Next questions:
Is there a vendor who sells all designs?
Is there a vendor who sells all materials?

Because I got a lot of materials during my hunting...but how do I know which one is worth keeping? Any guidelines? I don't have 154346234 inventory space to keep all of them...

How you guys usually deal with these materials obtained while hunting?

Where can I find all the designs? Or does that kind of npc even exists?
How about the materials? Is there an npc for that too?

 

I recommend going into either Cooking or Alchemy. The higher level buff items tend to sell really well, or at least that's my experience. As for getting designs, there's an NPC in the Abyss that should sell a ton of them. Look for the NPC in the shops on the landing of your respective faction.

 

I doubt anyone will trade the Best PVP gear (ABG) to crafted stuff. And there aren't material merchants you can buy mats from. Then everyone would have eternal crafted gear

 

So...sounds like crafting only has 2 purpose:

A) For the skins...

B) For consumables -> PvP...

So I can throw away all the materials I gathered while hunting?
How u guys usually deal with these items? What to keep? What to sell? What to throw?

Any recipe which is dropped by monster, but not purchasable from NPC? (You know, just in case I throw away a design which I loot from monster, only to regret later because it is not sold by any NPC...)
