New harassment policy no 2

I believe that most people fail to see the value of my suggestion for a new harassment policy what calls for it is

• Screenshots are not valid proof to prove harassment. Screenshots maybe easily be modified with programs like gimp, photoshop, even mspaint
• Private harassment can be easily be avoided by /block so there should be a distincion
• The aim of every resonable gm should be to stop harassment and not to punish it, punishments bring up more hatred and more harassments...Unless ofc u wish to banish the whole server.

Now plz don t close this thread and try to oppose arguements if u have anything against it

i think there is a contradiction in what ur actually arguing

when u mention CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, we already all agree that thats perfectly fine as long as u have proof to justify what it is ur criticising

i do however think that screenshots r enough of a proof since in most cases u can show they have been modified and nobody here wants to be continuously harassed. if u block them (is it even possible on these forums?) they can simply go to the next person and do the exact same thing to them

as u urself have said, u can be a prick for 5 years and all u ever get r warnings? why would u even care bout how u behave if everything u get r only warnings? think about it

i disagree with that rule. if a gm is obviously acting unjustly or is misinformed, then it is perfectly fine to disagree with them AS LONG AS u keep it civil

 

I got muted for about 12 hours for calling an am a noob.

 

Now that shouldn't have happened, unless you were doing a bit more than you're claiming.

 

I announced it in .asmo and then It said "You have been banned from this channel for 12 hours" or smt like that. Simple as that. Calling an am a noob = mute.

 

rules can be taken to an extreme, a thing like that could easily be said as "disagreeing with a gm's judgement" or "harassing a gm". there r no standards or examples and its simply up to each individual gm to interpret the rules as they wish

@Ariall lol not surprised then public in front of half the server AND it was just world channel, u could still speak anywhere else

 

I got baned for 7 days for calling a trainnee noob(more or less that s what i was saying a bit more aggressive than noob ok but noob was the meaning)

As for how easily SS are modified....All i have to do is go on another server make a char named as my char have my friend name as the person i hate....have im harass me and there u have it....a perfect crime!....No dear fellows ss prove nothig that s why they aren t legit evidence in the court of law

 

i find it funny when people start comparing this crap to "the court of law" it doesnt make ur argument any more valid. this isnt the court no matter how official u wanna make it sound

did u hear of server side logs? if u have, then ud know that a screenshot is merely a starting point that facilitates the real search as u can use a whole phrase to confirm the validity of what has been reported ^^

everything that is being said or done and is recorded in ur client log (NCSoft\Aion\Chat.log) and much more is recorded on the server side as well (which users like u dont have access to)

if they see a screenshot of something that should not be happening (for example a gm insulting players), they can go to their own logs and search for the text that they see on the screenshot. if its not in their logs, the screenshot is fake. if it is there, the gm is in trouble

That s not the point nor they have the time and manpower to go through all the text

The point is when someone harasses u have the option to /block IN GAME i m talking about ingame!

btw how much manpower does it take to press CTRL + F and retype a phrase into the search box? takes erm...20 seconds? maybe 25 if u type slow

depends on the nature of the harassment really but some people deserve worse than just a block by the people they r harassing >.>

 

I m not so sure they issue such a thing on a mere gag or 5day ban...it s just easier and faster if they just follow the ss

its not about issuing anything. every action or line said ingame is automatically recorded in the server logs which r easy to look through. how do u think they monitor gm actions ingame to prevent power abuse the very same logs

btw the problem with block is that they can say whatever they want about u that everybody else hears but u dont that doesnt always end well

 

AND THEREFORE? ban the VIRTUOUS among with VERMIN!
