Jumpshooting

Hey guys,

Since a lot people here don't know what jumpshooting is I decided to write a small guide. So here it is:


What is jumpshooting?

When you jump and use a ranged skill on the right time, the animation disappears. Very, very usefull for grinding, or just simply killing while running. This is NOT an exploit, it has been approved by NCsoft itself.


How do I jumpshoot?

It's quite easy. Just practice, practice and practice more to master this. I have made a short video for this a long long time ago, when I was playing the retail, found this out, and knew this was overpowerness, a beginning of a new playstyle.

Definitely should be in the guides section and you may also want to note that you need pretty good ping to jumpshot efficiently (around <400).

This is useful for dueling but since 99% of pvp is airborne, the jump shot doesn't really help against faction vs faction pvp on this server (so dont press spacebar while flying or you'll glide and get pwned by your attacker). Also, if you are using a chain (stunning shot for example), make sure you move at least 1 step before you fire the next ability (or just jump again). If you don't, you'll sufffer a type of cooldown effect and will have to wait a little bit before the second ability is ready.

One thing that you didn't mention (I didn't watch the video so it may be in there) is how to fire standard (auto attack) shots while running. NC made it so you cant fire an arrow while running forward and the enemy behind you. You need to press attack in the middle of a jump, your character will turn around in mid air and fire an arrow. After the arrow is fired, he/she will turn forward again and continue running. If you do it correctly, your running speed will not slow down and you'll continue being awesome.

 

In event when the fly isnt allowed.

Good post Forsaken. Hopefully I can see Rangers duel running away, instead of just standing there or going backwards while a gladiator comes straight at them.

 

Yes, that's another example for when ground combat is necessary.

I'm really starting to get the jumping shot down. Perfect stationary, pretty good moving. Trying to get auto attacks in there usually screws me up though, is that possible? Maybe it requires me to do something different?

 

lol was teaching this to my legion mate. and he said it's "****ing useless" cuz he can't beat a chanter with it. lol -.-

I can do jumpshooting a lil bit but I would really love to do it frequently. :sideways:

 

jumpshot is nice but u dont get to pvp in the ground... so its kinda useless...
good to pve thou and lvl up....

 

i have not read this guide before. but i do jumpshots with rangers and jumping skill with cleric too. both on pvp and pve but when i do this on my ranger. they call me gay and a runner. FCKING JERKS!

Jump shoot is a special features for those skill that have Casting time : Instantly. You cant do jump shot with a delay skill.
Some skill's casting time is instanly but has Casting time : 0s. It had been written ingame instanly in 1.9. In 2.0 change into 0s. But it's dont really change. It still works like an instantly one. (ex: entangling shot, exploding trap)
Not only ranger but any other class has instantly skill can do jumpshoot or jumpcast too ^^

I only play ranger so these are those instanly skill :
1.entangling shoot
2. Gale arrow
3. Heart shoot
4. Lightning arrow

Some trap are instanly, which mean you can set them while running
