Intermittent Lag Problems

Hi i was wondering if anybody can help me please
I have really bad lag for around 5 secs around every 20 secs of play.
This happens regardless of the graphics settings (low or high) and on both servers.
Also i played retail a while ago and aion ran fine then. (no lag).
Any suggestions? Thanks

(p.s other than the lag i get, this private server is great)

 

what server do play? lumiel,siel crystal? anw check ur connection maybe u there download something.

 

Sorry forgot to say, i am in lumiel. Though i have a low lvl char in siel to test see if it lagged there too, it did. Also not downloading anything.

 

well siels doesnt lag at all atm, so something wrong with ur connection. check that out . there nothing to do with server.

 

was thinking it must be something to do with mine as i cant find anyone else/other posts with the problem. Just not sure what it could be. Thanks anyway

No probs. Forgot to add my in game ping is always around 200ms ish and im in the UK.

 

It seems when i reduce screen res and all gfx this lag doesnt happen as often, and on 800x600 not at all. I have no idea why though as iv run aion before (around a year ago) on highest res fine. Inbetween these lags it runs fine at 40ish fps. (5fps when lagging) Lag happens around every 10 secs for around 5 secs. Anybody know any possible causes? Thanks

Can you tell me your graphics options in your game? That might be it.

 

Yeah, basically everything atm is set to lowest/off except object range with 800x600 and it runs ok. The problem is on anything higher. But the weird thing is i ran aion before (retail) fine on all highest settings. It runs nice and smooth between these frame rate drops (10 secs smooth 5 secs frame rate drop).

 

Did you happen to update your Aion software to 2.1.0.10?

 

Just checked, it is updated to that yes.

 

I'm playing at that Aion version at the moment, and yes, I must say that it does contribute to the lag.

The Gamez server is on a lower aion version, which is why your PC might be acting up on it.

So when did you log on Retail? I hope a while ago is a few minutes ago.

 

Oh i last played retail around a year ago (lol). Not sure if anything has happened to my pc since but it seems fine. I did play infiniteAion around 5 months ago that was ok on higher settings too. Maybe it is this update then. Also to add i took a /ping during the slow downs and the ping is ok (200ms) but the fps is very low.

 

From your information, it could be your harddrive that's the problem.

Try to update or check your graphics card or your processor, something must be up while you were gone.
