More Staff

For the size of the community, there really aren't enough active GM's to maintain the server(s). I don't know about Siel, but on Lumiel we have hackers everywhere left and right and it's getting really frustrating checking //gmlist and there being no one on to take care of the bug abusers/hackers. It's getting to the point where it's not even fun to fight the zergs anymore because the range hackers lock you down/burst you dead from 40m~80m range, or some assassin in perma-hide kills your cleric and then your group is done.

Would be nice if you started hiring either staff whom have enough time to be on for most of the day, or simply increase your staff numbers so the chances of finding one on at any point in time is more likely. It's difficult to catch screenshots that prove anything when you're already dead, and some of us can't run fraps while we play. This server is fun to pvp on, until the hackers come out.. Having more people to take care of them will maintain the balance and enjoyment in the game.

 

Increase the staff numbers is a good idea if you ask me >.<

 

Main issue with new staff, like everywhere else, is that people tend to get hired, stay active a month, then idle.

Range stuff should be fixed when the emulator changes. It's not a hack, it's just server bugs, etc.

The last update was supposed to revert the Hide II bugs, but it didn't (they didn't rollback far enough, or something like that) - it should be addressed soon, or definitely by the emulator change.

Ofc they got tired... people tell them every day same things and only they can do !! just Jailing Sins cause server issue... and ban Duppers!!

 

I was a bit less active this week because i had no time, but i used to be on several hours each day. Maybe there are some time frames without any AM online, but i think is not like you said. If someone read your post will think that Lumiel is a wild server abandoned by AMs, and thats not true

You should have some kind of policy with the GM's you hire then.. Or at least give incentive for them to remain active. I ran a private server of my own on another game so I understand how tedious it is to get staff whom are dedicated long-term. However Gamez seems to have a fairly large population, there should be a good amount of players out there with enough experience and time to offer for the most basic community duties.

Also, when is the emulator change coming?

I did not mean to imply that we have been abandoned. I have certainly found GM's online whom have helped get rid of abusing players. It just seems that more often than not there is no one available to help, or no one online.

 

+1, Emulator is this month... they said so!! nevver know what will happen again and they gona delay it more and more!!

 

What I've seen in other places is that GMs have shift times. Almost all the time there's a GM online, after one's shift ends, the other comes and be the GM of his shift. =)

 

Having more staff atm is not to issue.

Gamez issue is that it needs ACTIVE staff that know what in the hell their doing which to be all honest 90% of the gamez staff fail at this section. Quite few are active and work to solve the problems and also get an attitude while helping most people from what i have seen around here. Not to mention most seem to not know how to solve most problems and in the end their here just for the title and power. Yet when carl could hire people that would work their ass off to help the server and people he won't, instead he hires the bums and misfits of the server.

 

I agree that more staff is not needed but for the ones we have to be active. Right now there is just a lot going on for people so many of the staff are taking time off at the same time for various reasons. Hopefully we will be back on track again soon.

The ones that are only becoming staff for the pretty colored name are getting weeded out quickly nowadays and of course there are some who truly do want to help but find they are overwhelmed by everything.

Who are you referring to as the bums and misfits that are being hired?

 

I'm not going to state name's as to not get drama started on the forums. But we do have each other one YIM and i will list the names there. But other then you and a select few most gm's here are worthless as far as their title goes. I have not seen them prove that they deserve the title as much as others. Granted me and few people don't get along but i'd rather seem them as GM's for the simple fact they ARE active and do help people and go to their ends to do so. Like me as well i have helped and helped and helped and because i dislike 1 person i get turned down for an app which is absurd because the main reason that even if i don't like them it doesn't mean i can't act professional around them long enough to get our jobs done, but then again welcome to gamez as i have always said. Hopefully the bad ones get weeded out sooner before that later turns this place upside down.

 

I guess it would help if someone can explain an AM/GM's scope and responsibilities so people can set their expectation accordingly. As far as i can see, players are asking GMs/AMs to do things that i think is not within their scope that the staff forgot to mentioned how far they can go with that. But i would have to agree there's a need of active Staff in game.

 

Maybe it can be good, but you never know when they are online, maybe there are 5 AM's online at the same time.. So I dont think it will help that mutch, But maybe =P

 

Just because//gmlist says no GMs are on, doesn't mean it's true. Quite a bit of them stay invisible.

 

Afaik I'm online 24/7 in Lumiel..
I spend 12 / 15 hours on a Daily basis online.. or invis checking world chat for hackers.
Neeza stays on aswell, Tousen logs at a diferrent timezone, same as Scrappy. and Euph is always checking forums for reports and stuff

We're pretty ok with our GM team in Lumiel so far.
I've been only 6 hours online this past 3 days cos I had some general issues in my life.
But now I'm going back to my daily basis so I'm on atm and will be until I go to sleep.

And btw.. Rangeabusing is a server-side problem. Has nothing to do with a 3rd party program.
On the other hand ppl can shoot from 50m if we take into account distance and height. However since we don't have Geodata yet.. ppl can shoot thru walls which isn't meant to happen. Which will be hopefully fixed with the new emu.

And so far I've been checking people daily.. and not even 1 was speedhacking. Some ppl might think Gladi skill or Assassin Sprinting is Speedhack. When it's not at all..
I havent' found a single hacker in 4 days.. just some bugabusers which already have been punished.

Maybe ur in a different timezone I'm in.. I guess..

 

Well , i think we need more DEVS , cuz the kisk bug on siel , is making me get bored .
