Is truth always good? ^^

Today's topic is related to a post in yesterday's thread where somebody said "I'm just being honest" even though his views would probably go against most people's beliefs.

It made me think for a bit and I came up with a few leading questions for yet another discussion

What is your opinion about lying? Should people always tell the truth no matter what the consequences are? Do you believe white lies are bad too? What do you think a world where people are unable to lie would be like? If you could live in one, would you want to?

Just something to think about ^^

(If you are getting bored of these already just say so and I'll stop making them) xD

 

White lies... the only kind of lie my mouth can spit out...
i lie sometimes... I admit...

But if u can bring up the the truth, well better toss those shackles out from your feet......
than to feel being anchored on that issues........^_^v

 

for me personal.. truth never always good.. manytimes truth are very very hurt..
and yeah,i think there is White sin,lie for good ..
but no matter what,lie still a lie and thats a sin.. so its little bit complex for ask better lie or not??
and im so sure no one want get punish for what he/she do..
and for me personal again,i choose stand between them both.. sometimes i tell a truth,and sometimes not.. i have to see,what the effect for my word.. if the effect not so big,then i tell the truth.. well ex,the effect will cause fight,then that time for me to lie

 

u know what they say truth hurts lol. but yeah nothing more than a white lie lolz (tbh dont like doing that one either)

kinda the point of this discussion xD get more people to say what they think could turn out quite interesting

 

Truth may hurt when you hear it sometimes, but a heal period come and you feel free, a lie is just a delay of the moment the truth will hurt.

 

so u dont believe in white lies? then heres a question for ya ^^

do u think any relationship could last without white lies? people dont always share the same opinion and saying what u really think could hurt the other person more. think sometimes white lies dont have negative effects on other people and might be better than saying the truth

for example, when the person u like asks if ur busy and ur really working on something important but u wanna be nice to them and help them. technically saying no would count as lying saying yes on the other hand might just make the other person feel bad for bothering u. another case could be when they ask u how u think they look in some clothes etc it could be just a matter of personal preference but could have bad effects on their self esteem

ah but not all lies always lead to finding out the truth, specially when it comes to white lies which often involve preferences and things that dont have serious implications

 

not all the truth are good and not all the lies are bad...It depends...Sometimes, telling lies is the must, or it should be, example: When one of ur friend, or relative, or someone that very important to you, is dying, and you cant change that fact..He/she asking you: "Am I dying right?" and in that case, no one, imo, should say : "Yes" (the truth), but say: " oh no, you will get over it soon" (lie).. To encourage him/her, to make him/her feel better even though he/she is not far from his/her end of life not for long...

 

Lived all my life in lies cuz people around me thinked it's better for me.
I lie too, everybody lies but I rather hear the worst truth than live in lies again.
Nothing can surprise me in this world anymore.

 

thats a good example but there r other reasons behind that decision, specially the fact that the will to live has big impact on people's survival rate ^^

also prefer the truth in most cases but id distinguish between intentional lies meant to hurt people and lies to make them feel better as long as it doesnt have negative effects later

... telling lies in relationships makes you selfish yet considerate, but telling the truth is vice versa.
idk, im still single, so i really dont know what its like to lie to your partner. but yeah, what i said ^

So what i mean, truth and lie, w/e it is, just make it right, and think about the consequences b4 you say, specially the lies.....

and yeah i wouldnt know either but then again if its something that i dont find too important but they care about a lot, i wouldnt wanna hurt them

 

Im always honest, always say what I think and don't lie to people I trust, respect and didn't catch on lying to me (ignoring the white lies).
Consequences of it? I got very few friends but ones I can rely on in any situation.

White lies against me I ignore but I know when they lie, always.

I use white lies on my mom when I need something but mine and her relations were awfull in past
How I know when someone lies? Well when you live many years in lies, come very cruel and life/relation depending, when you get teached from others how to lie to never get caught, you know when someone lies.
I was a lier, I lied a lot to everyone till someones life could end cuz of that, was one moment in life when I snaped out and realized I can't do it anymore.
Lies never pay and always get dircovered, no matter what, even when you use white lies on your beloved person that person usualy knows you do it to make them feel better ^^

 

does that make it bad though? ^^
