    I tried asking people in game and no one bothered to explain and my head hurts from searching the forum...

    What is an item skin? Is it a skin only? and why do other people Sell it like this:

    WTT>(INSERT ITEM NAME) skin...is it cheaper than the item itself??

    Original skin items - such as Raiments of Mastery- are much more valuable than [let's say] a Archon Patrol Breastplate that was remodeled to Raiments of Mastery via Item Remodelers.

    TL;DR: Original items with special names > Normal items with the same skin.

    nah its coz people bypass untradable requirements by remodeling it onto something tradable

    dumb example, bear with it :p

    abg = untradable but u like the look of it so...

    remodel abg onto a level 1 white armor/wep

    sell that as an abg SKIN (coz u dont get any benefits of the stats, just looks)

    the buyer remodels it onto his wep/armor to make it LOOK like abg (without any stats)

    thats where the skin comes from

    also yea some items have same skins so u can sell a cheaper one if its just for remodels

    Yes, or if you're patient, you can probably go hunt minor bosses, whose drops are sometimes quite nice.
