Ok here's the thing that bugs me...
Ok I can understand over and over why GMs say you need proof to get someone banned.
Logical thing to ask for. Ive been trawling the Ban appeals section to see who has been recently banned.

I see 4 innocent people as I am in the same legion as them and know them very well all banned for "speed hacking".

This is beginning to look like *****ing or QQing isn't it? Nothing of the sort... I just want to know others opinions of this that's all

I'm an Asmodian on Lumiel server and I have to say I have seen several players who are very well known hackers and have been reported by many and still roam free in the server. I'm not going to name names.... That's just harsh

I'm just curious as to how innocent people get banned? Maybe a system of more than one GM reviewing evidence?

but i thnk those "staffs" should work their asses too..
rather than relying on the reports of the player around the server.

if uve been on gamez for a while, ud know that all the servers here r flooded with hackers and bug abusers

they dont have nearly enough gms here to do a thorough analysis of every case and let every gm agree on it and what not so if it looks suspicious, they ban and allow ban appeals. some hacks r subjective (like speed hacks) where u cant always be 100 percent sure

anyways a lot of this wont matter after today, the new core should fix this

they do, but compare the 20 or so gms we have here scattered across servers to a population of several thousand players

its unrealistic for them to be responsible for banning all of them, cant be done

 

the cases of Innocent people getting banned are extremely rare. AMs do investigate the suspect , and in some cases there would be at least 2-3 AMs investigating a person. AMs are humans , they're not perfect and they make mistakes. That's why we need the help of the public in catching and banning offenders. The most common issue is when we catch a friend of yours doing something illegal, most people defend them and make them look innocent. Other cases would be when people have grudges againts other players and try to frame them for doing something that they are not actually doing.

already lost faith in humanity if people actually behaved and played by the rules, this wouldnt be an issue to begin with

yes and they do their part they r online jailing/banning people too, the problem is there r too many hackers and too few gms who cant be on all day

we all know that some just joined the staff just for the fame. (but this is another issue. :tongue

i didnt mean u specifically, i meant its all the other hackers and bug abusers that make gms end up banning people that might not have deserved it

its like a repetition of all the other debates, its just that people prefer to rage in their own thread instead of looking up the old ones

point being, nobody is perfect. if u have a problem with the evidence upon which u were banned, ask the others to judge it

there were already a few cases in the past when a senior AM denied ban appeal and the community overturned it based on analyzing the evidence (like the guy recording was actually lagging like hell and it made the other person seem like speed hacking)

 

Ok I completely understand that GMs/AMs are all human And being human means you make mistakes... But I can see where you are going with this...

There are some hacks that are really damn obvious... Damage hack, hide, flight, insta cast (Insta cast I will get back to). But with hacks like speed hacking that are really difficult to really judge whether they are or not... May I make a suggestion? When it comes down to speed hacking why not look into the player who made the report? I have seen on other games where people frame others for speed hacking and it is really easy... With most speed hacks not only can you increase your speed but you can decrease it also... You can see where I am going with this cant you? xD

Insta cast hacking is a big issue... Being an Asmodian sorcerer I have been accused of insta cast hacking a lot of times now... a GM on Elyos side needs to make it clear to the other Elyos that Asmodian sorcerers can legally reduce their casting speed to almost nothing. Its simple really... Tell them to look for the combination of buffs... Magic Boost 1+Boon of Quickness+Vaziels Wisdom+Awakening scroll can make an Asmodian Sorc cast all skills pretty much instantly. I'm only saying because getting perved on by a GM mid pvp gets pretty distracting when you have done nothing wrong xD

Ok so now we reached the point where we have decided there isnt enough GMs online... so employ more :O Its voluntary right?
May I ask one thing? When Carl gets around to employing a few more... Can I ask for more on Asmo side? o.o I like that the new AM made an Asmo char and does events with us a lot... but Poor Twili shes getting lonely on Lumiel server

any GM is for both sides, Elyos and Asmodians. Its not like you cant pm a GM on his Elyos/Asmo character, or getting helped by them.

 

well the problem is u cant just mass hire random people coz it ends up with power abuse like it did in the past, has to be done over time

the casting speed is funny asmo sorc can actually get 102 percent reduction (5 percent hidden on abg cloth set bonus)

with speed hacking reports, its not always just trying to frame people, lagg plays a role too and some of it is just accidental

Fair enough point but... From what I have seen most AMs/GMs spend a lot of time on Elyos side so they know the Elyos players better than the Asmodians... I only know of 2 that spend time talking to us on the Asmo side...

Of course when an AM starts to spend time with players on various sides you get the debate of favouritism going on...
