another problem with that is that no matter what GMs do, they will be accused of something

spending time on both sides -> "u dont spend enough time with us"
spending more time on one side -> "ur biased towards the other"

so many no way out scenarios ud be surprised

 

Good point... Seems no matter what a GM/AM does they get abuse for it... Seems this subject is one that can indeed go on forever... xD

i dont get how spending more time with you guys , for me i only login in my Elyos character, because it looks cooler then my Asmo character. and i dont even talk with anyone. i usually hunting hackers, or staying on Test2 answering questions or hosting events.

it doesnt matter what side gms log more, point being that they ban hackers which should be banned

why rage at 1 gm that plays elyos more and 1 that plays asmo more when together its as if they played both sides evenly? xD

seems like people just need someone to rage at here, regardless of the reason

 

It makes you less intimidating Ok I can understand AMs have a lot to do... hunting hackers/events/answering questions. But dont you guys need a little down time too??? Being sociable with the players you are watching out for makes the service of the GMs better because that way they are easier to talk to.

9 times out of 10 and I have a question about something etc I tend to ask Twili because she's easier to talk to

Its all about Customer Services... Because being a GM/AM you in effect part of Carls Customer Services team right?

Its not about raging at one GM... Im just trying to help them out I see a lot of people complaining about how the GMs/AMs "fail" to do their job... Kind of unfair sometimes when there is only so many of them online at one time and so many players to watch over...

Not so much in Siel at least. If you do that, they call you a lazy person that doesn't do his "job". You can have fun with friends cause some people may ask you "can you give me a item?" or you getting flood for a lot of people

For players we "Fail" cause they only saw one report, but they cant see how many players we ban, jail, help... they just keep in mid how many mistakes we make and make a BIG drama about that.

For those players that would abuse a GMs privileges like you mentioned... asking for items etc... That would just show them for the people they really are...

And I do apologise if it seems I am making drama it was never my intention at all... Just curious that's all and having 3 GMs give theirs so far has really helped

As you said about making mistakes... You have enforced the point that everyone is human... Even the GMs... Although some people out there would want them to be perfect well oiled machines

 

Well here is the thing... If the GMs think it fitting to enforce an IP ban well...... Making a new account and character is a little hard after that xD.

Ok seems we took a detour xD...

Obviously no matter what a GM does they get flamed for it some manner shape or form... No matter how you look at it there is a thousand solutions and over 2 million problems...

You can either spend your day as Tousen does looking for hackers/making events and answering questions and get told you dont spend enough time with the players... Or you can spend some time socialising and get told you are lazy...

You can ban people and get told you made a mistake... Which has been stated GMs are human it happens... But that's what the Ban Appeal section of the forums is for...

You would be surprised I'm glad I helped out in some way shape or form lol.
But it does help spending about 5-10 mins with the players... Twili does and it makes her easier to talk to...
I have hardly spoken to Iced and to tell you the truth... He scares me rofl xD

 

1) AMs spend hours on investigation. They don't rely on proof alone, since they'll also stalk the suspects. If someone got banned, he got banned because he deserved to be. The ones that are QQing in forums can't accept the fact they're caught and are trying to pull an outlandish, disgusting act of fake innocence.

2) AMs don't investigate alone. They work as a team. When it comes to coming to the verdict of judgment, they work it out together and debate on the crime.

I'm sorry but I never accepted the excuse of being human as valid. We do make mistakes, but making them repeatedly does not justify this "human" excuse. Humans have been born always with companions, and there's a reason why no man is an island.

3) AMs are not paid. They are basically volunteers to help the community / Customer Service.

4) AMs are usually the target of flaming. People expect so much from them and start making up stupid rumours, or degrading them and accusing them of pathetic things like favouritism, etc.

5) But regardless of all this an AM is also a regular player, just with more responsibilities. If he/she can't keep up with it, he/she should know what he/she has gotten him/herself into. After all, why submit an AM application if you can't handle it?

 

I see your point on making mistakes repeatedly... But as I am aware if mistakes are made often by the same people then obviously those are looked into.

As you said an AM is another player but with more responsibilities, they are players and sometimes do deserve a little fair treatment...

But the constant amount of flaming they get is a little outlandish, as has been said in this thread they are human and of course humans have feelings... I give the AMs every credit for being able to put up with the constant abuse that they get...

I never said that being human was an excuse, its a fact of life that people do make mistakes... However if someone is making the same mistake over and over then its fair to say that their colleagues will be there to advise them on where they are going wrong and how to improve...

The problem is sometimes when a report comes in there is only one AM online so how can that person make a joint decision with other AMs if there aren't any?

Yes there are some players who did get caught and were banned for the right reasons however on the rare occasion a mistake is made and someone is banned for a reason that wasn't there to begin with.
