Donation is a one-way deal. If you're donating for somebody, you're giving him/her the money/something you wish to give WITHOUT demanding anything back.

    That's how donation works literally.

But of course, nobody would be so much as a jackass to not give you anything back, especially since the server needed the money and players for a head start a long time ago, so Carl decided to use the Reward Shop system to give you appreciative gifts in the form of items that you have no rights to ask for to begin with, since you donated to him.

Not protecting Carl, but this is stuff that you should have known before pressing that "Donate" button.

If it's missing, it's another thing where Carl is at fault.

But if you've already purchased something with your credits, now it's dropping in-game, and you're asking for a refund, screw that donkey crap.

people have a right to expect a credit refund when they dont receive an item with proof. i think some of the people who posted those threads were talking about that.

Donating blood is something that you give from your good heart.
Donating money to a private server is something you do in order to get virtual items.

So in short. Donation in a private server is a "sell and buy" deal. But because it is illegal, people found this "donation" way in order to legalize it. Because dont forget it,AION is property of NCSOFT and no one is allowed to make money under that trademark.

Not taking sides, just stating the facts.

PS: Once you payed there is no way back. Except,if you sent money via western union. You may cancel the exchange if you go there and take your money back before the recipient receives your money.

That's a common misconception, saying "donating and receiving items" is like "selling and buying."

If you wanted to donate to Carl, you do it. Carl doesn't force you to donate, you do it on your own.

You know how people give you cupcakes/lunches after you've donated blood? That's the same in this situation. The items are tokens of Carl's appreciation, just like those cupcakes.

Of course, Carl could flip a shit and decided to never have included the Reward Shop in the beginning if he wanted to, but he obviously knew that wasn't a good idea, so he included the infamous shop as we know it.

But yeah, the general mindset is that "we donated, so we get items and you have to refund if we ask for it," which is completely wrong.

What are you saying my friend? Donation in private servers is this: Admin SELLS items and names it DONATION because if he puts name SALE his server could get closed and he would face the consequences in real life. Please, dont post unless you know things. I have been playing MuOnline for many years and i know very well what is donation in private servers. If someone reports gamezaion for selling virtual items for real money, carl can say "i dont sell anything, this is DONATION and i dont abuse the rights or the trademark of NCSOFT".But if in the main website Carl puts CREDITS FOR SALE,VIRTUAL ITEMS FOR SALE. His server will get closed after the 1st report. Thats how many muonline servers got closed in the first place many years ago. Now things have changed and the Donation name does the job just as well. Do you understand what im telling you? Private servers are illegal to begin. And selling something that is property of NCSOFT or webzen (MuOnline) is even more illegal. So please..read what im telling you and dont argue with me.

The word donation is just a cover.

But i agree with you that once someone donated for items he shouldnt ask a refund and even if he did he would never get it..

Oh also. If the admin wont give credits as exchange for peoples money,no one would even pay.

    I got ya, it's only a cover-up.

But the literal meaning of the word "Donation" still speaks for itself, doesn't it?

Even funnier if Red Cross decides to give the blood back, only from the wrong person.

Or perhaps the mentality of the players nowadays is that donation = buying items. Back in the day donation in private servers means to donate to keep the serving running.

Running a server with more than 1k people OL isn't cheap and needs a good funding. But then donations should be used for the greater good of the server and those donators should get a good working server in return.

No one Creates a private server just from his good heart. If this server will stop having profit we ll all say bye bye to each other.

Nah, no matter how flowery the donation terms may sound, it still doesn't hide the fact that you can't accept money in a service that's pretty much illegal, like a private server, without putting a "Donation Only" badge on it.
