Can't be before 1950 (omg English back then was like wtf)
Can't be about people older then 30 (then drama becomes overly complicated and exxxaggerated)
Can't be nonfiction (trying to read not sleep)
Can't involve racism (who cares? that was so Southern)
People(adults or kids ;) )must die.

Go go go go!!! I am sooooo bored right now.

I read this book a couple of days ago. It only took a couple hours and it meets all your requirements.

I recommend Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It's in 2 volumes each about 600-700 pages long. It's set in China during the Three Kingdoms period.(The Dynasty Warriors games were based off of this series). It is MOSTLY nonfiction but it's awesome nonfiction. With awesome battles and political intrigue and some real badasses. One dude got shot in the eye in battle and instead of retreating he LITERALLY ATE HIS OWN EYE! Then he ran down the guy who shot him and rammed his spear in his face. Or Zhao Yun's amazing run when he singlehandedly took on hundreds of enemies while carrying a baby. Those were historic BTW. And then there's the startegic stuff from geniuses like Zhuge Liang.

So get off yo ass, go to the book store, buy the series, then go back home, get back on yo ass and start reading! NAO!!!!!

I find literature a lot more thought provoking...but you need to be in the right mindset. So for a book, I'd suggest the Harry Potter series since it is well written and the movies do not do it ANY justice.

I haven't read in a long time though lmao

I read the last book of HP recently "The Deadly hollows" and I found it way more of a suspense than the movie itself even tho the second part of the deadly hollows hasn't been on theaters yet. But yes I have to agree with you here they are well written.
