Login server and server status

I know someone has already posted below me about this, but i think we should vote on this.

It would be nice to know the current condition of the log in server as well at game server so people are not left wondering. so far the only way we can tell if the server is online is to try logging in, as even the status on the launcher doesnt say if we can actually get in game and is rather misleading to say the least.

 

Gm's have other much important priorities.. this is not one of them

Regardless, i have seen other servers running Aion with this simple status link available. the game is playable im sure they can make one little change to get the server status available to everyone to see clearly. Im sure GM's or Devs for that matter can stop posting about cheesecake long enough to implement this.

And personally i think this is a very important update. if new people dont know the server status when trying to join, only to find it down when they try logging in. it would be easier for them to just change launcher and go somewhere else.

 

The problem with the launcher is it simply doesn't update in time. It's a problem with it's ping check routine. Should be rewritten so that it says 'checking server' before it gets it's ping status.

 

The server had this in the past, but afaik it was causing problems for the server itself (use search)... so Carl removed it.
