Which is the best for templars ?

Mace + Shield or Sword + Shield ?

whats the difference of mace and sword? sorry but i need to ask this question

so nardongputek will understand why did u choose mace and shield .

 

Sword = stronger, more crits, and faster
Mace = more m acc for doom lure slows and boost for divine justice and magic smash damage, but since they're on a 2min and 30 sec cd and a lot of people use mr(they get resisted) they're kinda useless

It will boost some of your mag skills.

 

..i think mace .. if u pvp with sorcs...if you use Mace ur magic boost.... increase...if sword fast but low magic boost...look if you will use mace 2k + ur boost..

 

No, not really. I use mace+shield AND greatsword. The mace and shield only for Divine Justice and Magic Smash and they are full MB+27, and Greatsword for the rest of the attacks. A templar with a sword and shield is pretty much just a def type, a full tank. Won't do much damage whatsoever.

 

Don't see why you'd focus on all attack. You can easily stack attack on your sword too, getting 1 block and having all your shield counter crits is destructive. If you're gonna be waiting for it then might as well choose stronger weapon.

So if Sword and Shield = Ms Attack on Sword and Ms Block on Shield right?!

If mace and Shield = Mboost and Block ?!

 

I need 'em only one, I do usually 2-2.5k damage with only those two skills, then it's all for my Punishment and the rest of the skills, a bit of a shield bash, a stumble, Break Power and dead!

@Lady: No, I'm mostly using a Greatsword, and Mace/Shield as secondary set. I posted @ Guides on Templar Guides my full Stigma/Manastone setup.

Temp's don't need swords for any real reason, except for any greatsword with pvp damage in it. Most attacks are magic-based, and therefore you need an abg/masta mace with full MB+27 stones on it.

 

I agree with ablazed. I used a temp also and found that the magic boost from the mace for only 2 or so skills is not really worth the damage they make when u could get a better crit rate and higher attack rating from using the sword shield combo. Making for better average damage with all attacks. Imo.

 

But then again if I was to attack solo I wouldn't bother with those and get the gs like everyone else said.

 

Well I mostly pvp solo, I don't need a shield since I have 3k parry.
Attack ms don't make a difference whatsoever, I asked some retail temps.
