But seriously gamez, especially Carl: Step your game up.

Famously known as one of the best 3 Aion private servers, I'm saying we are a lot behind the chart-leader IA, both in terms of stability and content-awareness.

IA has been long done with "working on a stable 2.1", and they are now moving forward to testing on 2.5 on their test server. I've tried it, and boy do I agree that they're doing a very great job. If this keeps up, they will be reeling in players in 2-3 weeks, and they won't even have to drop by our forum and advertise about themselves. They are responsive on the forums (although they are a bit rude about it), and generally can keep their playerbase happy.

One thing I see that we're lacking is the amount of developers willing to work hard. Don't get me wrong, evilset works just as hard as any dev does, but it's simply not enough compared to others, especially a very well-organized team like IA's.

If you want our support, please push yourself harder, that's all I'm saying.



TL;DR: We suck a bit compared to others.


Also, /inb4 someone says that I'm just whining and that the people in charge are working hard enough as they are now.

No, it can be better, and they are holding themselves back by being persistent in their way of working.


Also, please don't think of this as an attempt to advertise for IA. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there, raw and unadulterated as they are.​

 

You shouldn't compare this server to IA. IA has countless dev's, we have 2.

 

maybe its time they look for volunteers to help out fixing bugs. you don't have to be given access to everything to fix bugs... like sql scripts/scripts or what ever its using.

That's exactly the point. Why are we satisfied with 2?

Surely there have been people who want to help, and are capable of helping out.

And it's certainly bringing more benefits to them.

And how are they "communist" :? Surely they graveyard a lot of threads, but those are mostly threads that violate the rules.

thanks for stating the true and common issues we're seeming to experience right now in a non hardcore qq way.

It does seem that the people who are responsible for the game itself are lacking attention towards us, not actually just communicating with us, but actually work out what needs to be fixed asap in game, and forums.
If you want to provide satisfied gameplaying for us, you would update us of what's up and what will be fixed and not ... yet.
Or if you're just 'stealing money off us,' well it doesn't really concern me since i don't donate (not allowed mwahaha) but that's just plain full-of-shitness, carl isnt like that is he ?

..i think what ghost is trying to say is there are people who applies for devs here on the forums and would really like to help the server and mr.carl only needs to try them..if it doesnt work terminate them lols..anyways, Gamez and IA are different from each other and they have their own unique style of pleasing the players..and players do have their own choices if ever they wanna stay in Gamez they will stay and if they wanna transfer to a different server no one can stop them..personally i tried playing in IA and Gamez and as far as i can say i really do love playing here on Gamez coz i dont like the thought of grinding and waiting for instances to cool down to start pvping..

I played that server that u are "advertising" when i first started playing aion at all, and reason i quit was becose of GMs in server insulting their community on daily bases, acting like they are gods and people are ants without brains... Oh and god forbidd if u have problem with ur client. NOT only will u be totally insulted of GM team for ur lack of knowledge with computers but they will refuse to help u becose they think ur to stupid to understand.. And then comes their community wich is x2 times worse...
So yea maybe server is great but still If kids are holding the server, then i dont want to be part of it, this server might be slow on updates but atleast carl sint running around calling his community stupid.. and Sure we do get fixes lately so its all good =)

Completely agree with ghost, although I've never played on IA or any other Aion pserver to compare gamez with, the lack of support/communication is uber fail on Carl's part. From what I've seen on the forums the past month and a half, two months I've been here is:
Carl shadow walks into forums, probably reads a couple of posts, then posts his update thread (half of his "fixes" not even really fixed).
Then goes back to counting his donation money.

With the current status of gamez, I'd love to see anybody disagree with me on this point.
He's been counting for quite sometime now.

I've seen plenty of developer applications on these very forums. I wonder if they're even looked at.
Oh, gamez has 2 devs? I guess not.

What fixes are you talking about?
Only thing they've done the past week are server restarts.


Oh, and in before Uthi comes and "~closes" this thread for no apparent reason other than it's negative, but true statements towards gamez.

In IA there is one simple rule how to become a GM which is no other than - donation. Just like you, when I first started to play Aion, I when to IA because of its good reviews as a Pserver. I stayed there for like 3 months before I moved to a high rates server which happen to be this one - Gamez.

During my stay on IA, I had the luck to learn lot of interesting stuff about its Staff team and its owner. So, let me light you:

- IA's GMs are not rude, they are just rough sometimes. There is a tiny difference. They are not baby-sitting anyone, why? Because if you will spend time to browse their forum, you will see that there are guides/ fixes for most possible issues/ problems. So, all that players got to do is learn2 -search & -read. Besides, they follow the rules that they make, not like here in Gamez where rules are just for the show off

- in order to become GM in IA you have to donate 100$ before applying for that position. This is just a requiremnt, not a ticket to become a GM (At least this was one of the requirements while I was there, haven't visit that server for long time now).

- being a GM there is more like buying that position, donate and await for your luck to smile to you Here in Gamez people do the same but there is a tiny detail though... In Gamez people buy their position in Staff team by ass kissing the existing Staff members who push them through until some lucky ones will get the such desired promotion - Golden name

- Staff team in IA is well organized because there is the pressure of the monthly control by the supervisors. If someone doesn't do his job, he got demoted. It doesn't matter if he heavy donator or dedicated ass kisser of the Supervisors. They follow the rule: If you fail, You are replaced.

I hope you got a taste of why IA act the way they do.

 

Yeah basicly it is , unless you know the senior AMs and/or Googi/Toast/Erb better .
However , they're smarter in a way , since they care enough to pay a couple hundred bucks to DEVs monthly , thus they ain't complaining and they aren't total amateurs when it comes to coding , not like ... ummm ... you know ...

@ Raiken , no idea from where you got all the "organized team" idea and stuff , have you ever been in-staff in Infinite ?

FYI GMs in IA nvr insulted anyone, If a GM insulted anyone, he's fired. I say don't judge a book by its cover, or don't judge a server by their GMs.

We even pay our senior GMs now when we have extra left over from paying server bills.

Lies and slander! We have one primary core dev, one DP dev, one contracted dev for quests (because we hate doing quests because it's so boring; and they were on a very long vacation recently), and a fourth contracted dev who does ACP and core stuff.

Gamez has the luxury of being part of the Aion Lightning project. We are based on no project with no community support.
