Mission: Keeping new players around

Nobody wants to do DP any more, people did it because the dropped armor was one of the best.

 

The quality of the player base has degenerated drastically. Even so there are still a few helpful legions outthere.

Anuhart gear has not gotten any worse, ABG was always better, nothing has changed really besides more people have ABG now.

 

The last person who would do Taha runs for free and help newbies get their items was Smartik, and he was gone too.

 

ABG wasn't available in 1.5, heck, medals weren't even available in 1.5.

 

for real how many ppls you think even know how to get taha real.. + you need have hell lot of dmg to even get it.. if its like retail.. points+time.. its not problem for already geared ppls.. but.. having 1 geared ppl and newbies.. GL to even be possible to get points in time...

 

I remember when I was starting out it took forever to get a party to dp (unless you were a cleric)
then half the time someone would ninja the drops or take what you wanted & that was when it was working fine.
& now it's next to impossible xD
The biggest turn off here imo is how hard it is for newbies to gear up so I think it's a great idea

No, it is not a good idea. Just make DP back as before, so even a white geared group could kill it. I've been with my ABG a few days ago and I was like... shocked of the damage they do to me. So make Taha spawn without any DP points.

 

i have item pak and im able to trade all items...

This actually sounds better, the original idea isnt bad but this last one is better because, back then (almost a year ago) i remember that almost everyone was helping everyone to get taha and/or we all use the broker to make REAL DEALS not like now, trade system is in toilet.... and well it was fun and you meet new ppl and had fun; Today is another history i only see trolls/haters/beggars almost everywhere.... but well CEO/Dev could "hear"/take a note or w/e this idea if WE ALL server members are supporting this; Im confident about it, but we need to be TOGETHER (trolls away).

Anyways you should had make this a poll and puted it on another (more serious) section.....

Two things:
1) Until they don't require VIP to be traded, it won't happen.
2) Other people besides new ones (or those claiming to be) will be there to buy them up too. It's unfortunate, but it'll happen.

The best way new people can gear up is to join with legions that take new people, which is the only way I can see them sticking around. Or if DP becomes what it was back in 2.0, easy to get to Taha and easy to get things to drop.

 

so still not yet reviewed by the GMs/AMs, well personally i like the idea, and the idea of making DP or the likes to be killable by whites. its for the newbies to give them a good start. been to DP with a group from legion, and boss there like one shotted us all. so again i support the ideas in this thread

I agree with 100% on this idea.
I mean, let's face it Anuhart stuff won't get you to the top of the Abyss Ranks or create an imbalanced PvP.
Anuhart people will barely stand a chance against EAT \ ABG geared people, BUT it's a START.
Giving newcomers the possibillity to start PvPing real quick which is the purpose of this Server, and give them the abillity to gain some AP and gold medals to start their PvP gearing up.
This sort of suggestion is exactly what I expect from the Staff to do, because even though I know a shit isn't done for the community considering the amount of donations and effort people put into the server, keeping newcomers and attracting more players is good for business. more people = more money, and you know what I'm talking about.
So this, and more should be added and suggested for the sake of Gamez.

 

Eh, could just make it so that it's one of the starter gear you get once you login.

 

For those who have issues with this idea mark taha/anuhart as un extractable and set the npc selling value to 1 kinah. There problem solved.

 

Let's keep in mind that Gamez is not a PvP server, but a high-rate server, PvE should still apply. I know, let's kill the PvE because we are too lazy! Let's be serious...

 

The reason people did DP before was because they could not get medals and ABG was not available, Anuhart was the one of the top armors, and now look at it.

I don't think anybody will want to waste their time doing DP runs, especially considering the size of the population, it would be very hard to find someone willing to help new players out.

In order to restore the population, a free ride to decent gear should be given.

the idea is quite ok, but i think they'd be many player abusing this..

come to think of it, how about adding lvl 50 Heroic [blue] items on the rental npc.. for example: anuhart legionaries stuffs, etc

besides the rental npc already sells some heroic items.. why not adding those with some stuffs thats actually usable & have a decent stats overall

just a thought though

i dont think theres eternals equipments thats lower than 50.. & eternals starts at lvl 50 as in tahabata's, meaning the best equipments below lvl 50 stuffs are all fabled.. if its gonna be on a npc so its like a unlimited give away stuffs, & i think fabled stuffs are a bit too much dont u think? : )

 

I don't get what you mean. The items aren't tradeable and they cannot be extracted.

Even though tahabata is a fabled item, it's pretty weak. It's just a sense of false security that would be around long enough for players to get decent armor.

 

You sure? I met a lot who helped me at first like RangerKay who gave me an anu set fully socketed + 1 taha hammer + 1 taha shield when I just met him like 1 day after he asked me wat my gear was (Elde:lol.

Anyway my point is there are still a lot players who keep helping others like some I met. RangerKay, raiji etc. This is from Siel server .I don know which server you're playing so If Im wrong forgive me. :wink:

But there are some easier ways to help newbies to stay in the server like let them get the gears from the qs which they are supposed to get like the Miragent Set (very good at start and way easier than farming in DP for anu now) or in Empyrean Crucible of patch 2.5.

You must give something to get more. There is no way you will get everything without giving any.
