2.0 Public Test Realm - Live!

GamezAion Launches 2.0 Test Realm!

Greetings lovely members of Gamez, I come here today with some good news for those of you who are too impatient for their own good!

We have just launched the GamezAion test realm which is currently running the latest beta revision of 2.0 If you guys simply cannot wait to see how things are going then by all means pay it a visit.

Getting Set Up:

Firstly please bear in mind that the test server requires the 2.0 client which will not work with the regular servers yet so you're going to need to make a copy.

Go to your NCSoft directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft) or (C:\Program Files\NCSoft) and create a copy of your Aion folder. For the purposes of today we will be naming this new folder AionPTS - this is case sensitive.



Once this folder has finished copying and you've renamed it run your NCSoft Launcher (Run as Administrator for Vista and Win7 users) It should pick up a new game called AionPTS.



Before you do anything though go to File > Settings > auto update tab and make sure it's disabled as shown above to prevent your GamezAion client from updating.



At this point you'll want to go back to the main menu, right click AionPTS and hit update. This will allow your new folder to update to 2.0.0.3 (Our test server version)

Assuming you're still keeping up then we're almost there! Now all that you have to do is close the NCSoft launcher and download the following file.

Once you've downloaded GamezAionTest.bat place it in your AionPTS directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\AionPTS) or (C:\Program Files\NCSoft\AionPTS)

All you have to do at that point is run the .bat file and it will launch the test realm.


Creating an Account:

Creating an account on the test realm is simple, all you need to do is attempt to log in with the details you want to use. The first attempt to log in will create the account with the password you typed in so make sure not to make a mistake or you're out of luck!

Obviously once a name is taken it cannot be retrieved or reused.

All that we ask is you try to play with something vaguely resembling decency, because this server will not have dedicated GM support (it is a test realm, not a real server) the people we do find being utter morons will likely have their accounts outright deleted by me in a spur of annoyance.

This is an early testing stage server for 2.0 so we know and expect a fair amount of bugs will be present, hell one hit me in the face as I was typing this.. it hurt, so please bear that in mind.

In particular we are aware of some transitional issues with the 2.0 item database.

Update: If you get "No game server is available to the authorization server (6)" or .dll errors please download and extract the following files into your AionPTS directory.

why use the PTS files vs regular 2.0 aion files?

They're the same files.

The separate client just makes it easier for people not to screw up their regular games.

Dude, making a copy of my aion folder...gg. Good thing I have a lot of HDD space.

 

How big is the update? I mean in mb (or Gb). How long does it take to run it?

 

yeah it's good gm but the main server will have wipe?

 

We have no intentions of wiping the main servers.
