4.7(and higher) - Getting the old zone-based loading screens

This is a guide on how to remove those shitty "tips" screens we got from 4.7 onwards (that ncsoft didn't even bother translating from korean and left blank) and replace them with the good old zone-based loading screens. And in 4.8/5.0 ncsoft were too lazy to even make new loading screens for the new zones/instances so i made custom ones from the backgrounds of the upheaval/echoes of eternity pages. Last time there were 2 loading screens for Enshar and Cygnea so I made 4 different versions depending on what people wanted to see when loading. Now with 3 new per zone i just couldn't be arsed to upload 36 different combinaitons so you'll have to manually put the ones you want.

How to replace them:
1) go to Aion\L10N\enu\textures, delete "textures.pak" and a folder called "Loading"
2) extract the "Loading" and "ui" folders from the above link into Aion\L10N\enu\textures
3) from the "new loading screens" folder you can see the custom loading screens for cygnea/enshar/norsvold/iluma, pick 1 per zone, delete the part in the parenthesis () ONLY ON THE .DDS files and move them to the aion\L10N\enu\textures\loading folder
4) go to Aion\Textures\loading and delete the "Tips" and "PR" folders (if you don't do this, you'll just end up with the korean tips screens)

All done, the next time you log in, you should have the normal loading screens.

I'll be working with Grrr here to get those 'Tips' changed to more GamezAion specific ones in the future =.

 

I tried this just now and it works when I go to other maps but in in character select the loading screen was about the korean private shop, how do I change that ?

I just want the old loading screens

 

Most likely you didn't do it right since i've never seen any korean shop thing in char select...
Just re-do the process

It works now but I did something new. I deleted that PR folder that contains a file named Loading_charselect.dds. I restarted the client and this time the loading screen shows the current map of the character.

 

Anyone know if this works with 4.8?
