AION.bin - disc not found

Hi guys!

Some time ago I have bought a new PC, and now I wanted to get back to the game. I downloaded NCSoft Launcher, downloaded Aion (North America ofc), and downloaded Gamez Aion launcher. I have installed it into /Aion folder and run the game. Bang! Error, something with server authorization or whatsoever. I found Win8 fixer (yeah, I have Win8), installed, but now after launching game I'm having such error:

AION.bin
No disc has been found in drive D.
Please insert disc in Drive D and try again.

I put a random disc in drive, but it does not work.

My PC (if PC config matters)
- Intel Core i5 3450 3.1GHz
- Radeon HD7870
- 2x 4GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHz RAM
- Windows 8 64-bit

 

win 8 on your pc is worst thing ever u can do ) before use win8 ppls should read whut it mean beware by win 8 is such a control ppl software...

 

First and Foremost Drive "D" Usually is one of the disc drives and the launcher should not be looking for aion.bin there. Need to go to the NCsoft launcher Right Click Aion>Properties>Browse and then find the Install Location.

It should be under "C:\Program Files\NCsoft\Aion" or something like that.

On top of that Retail Aion is currently 3.5.0.10 not entirely sure if gamez is compatible although I imagine it should be. If not then you might wanna send Smartik1 a pm for some downgrade assistance.

Also like mentioned above windows 8 is indeed a pos.

 

My COMPUTER is WIN 7,but if I installed the aion it will says"AION.bin" not was foundand said missings files

 

It's a rare error, actually occurs randomly and even goes away by itself for some people. If i recall puddles experienced it once, you can try asking her. It is too rare so didn't get to test solutions yet (besides the inserting random disk one). I'd probably say restarting your pc is a first option, you can try another random disk or just see if it goes away. Last thing I might do is delete aion registry entries. To do that, do the following

1. Start -> run -> regedit (or type into the start menu searchbox)
2. locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Aion and delete the whole aion entry on the left side. it will get recreated on next run
3. Might also delete system.cfg from your aion client, it gets recreated on next run as well

Install the gamez launcher inside your aion folder. It will not work anywhere else.

 

Does it matter that I have Aion installed in C:\Program Files(x86)\ instead of C:\Program Files\ ?

Funny thing is, that I played Gamez on this PC before, just I had some problems with it and had to service it. They had to format entire hard drive.

 

It's a really random issue that rarely happens to anyone, so cant assign a cause to it yet. No, the location doesn't matter. It's not even supposed to be in C:\Program Files\ because that's where native 64bit applications are installed and since aion is primarily 32bit, it should go in C:\Program Files(x86)\. The location has no effect whatsoever, it is basically used for your own benefit to distinguish between 32bit and 64bit programs.

 

If it is so rare issue, maybe game reinstall will help. I will try it. Maybe something went wrong during installation.

 

well u said the game worked fine (till login screen) and only after the win 8 fix it started saying this. not aware of anybody else who got this as a result of the win 8 fix. its strange. well u dont have to full reinstall. first thing id try is run the ncsoft launcher and try load retail all the way to login screen. if it works, try gamez again. if it doesnt, right click aion in the ncsoft launcher and try repair

see if any of that helps. if u repair u might need the win 8 fix later on anyway but try without it after repairing to see if the error went away

 

I have tried all that you said and:
- After first try to launch normal Aion it has crashed just after clicking PLAY NOW in NCSoft Launcher.
- I checked for updates, it said that there are some to download so obviously I downloaded all. After that I made a consistency check, client has downloaded few files and repaired.
- Aion has launched normaly.
- After running Gamez Aion I hit the login screen (no problem with drive D), but I'm having errors like "You are already logged in(7)" or "Cannot conect to the authorization server(6)".

So it seems that Win8 fixer is broken, because drive problems are occuring after installing it.
