can't log in, says "ID or password does not match (2)"

I don't get it. I closed my game client (didn't log out or quit normally, since I play in windowed mode) and came back a few minutes later (had to walk my dog), tried to log back in, and I get this weird message: "ID or password does not match (2)" I've used my same username/password I've always used for the last few months.

The server has crashed and is giving everyone this message for some unknown reason.

Usually it waits about 10 seconds and then closes the game on its own when it crashes for me, first time I've seen it done this way. xD

That's usually when the server is partially crashing, this is the dangerous time because people lose their items during this phase.

The shutdown is done by Alente and it will kick you out.

Server is down, database issue so I've called Carl and am waiting for him to get back to me.
