[Event Idea] City Annihilation

    Once again, thinking about a fun event, something just came to mind.


    -= Annihilation =-

    First of let me say that I have already confirmed that a HGM can restore dead NPCs which is why I'm placing this event suggestion.

    The event consists on the following.

    A main city will be invaded by the opposing faction but not simultaneously, first one race will get to invade one city and then it'll be the other factions turn to do so.

    Sanctum = Invaded by 35-40 Asmodian.
    Pandaemonium = Invaded by 35-40 Elyos.

    Of course that is a higher ammount of players can join the even, the better since it's to be expected that the defending faction will have more players in the city than the invading faction. (my main thought was 50 player per invading army)

    The Goal:
    The invading Army will need to achieve a feat which is kill a specific NPC in the city.

    Sanctum's NPC: Fasimedes
    Pandaemonium's NPC: Vidar

    Of course it won't be that easy since each faction will need to fight the defending players from the opposing faction.

    The Timer:
    Each faction will have a total of 1 hour to kill the NPC and the faction with the best time wins the event.

    The Rules:

    1) Considering that it is a fact that someone will use a DP skill even if told not to, DP skills should be allowed in order to make it more challenging for both side and less of a pain for GMs/AMs to keep track of the players not breaking the rules.

    2) Everything should be allowed (all except hacks)

    3) by the end of each invasion, all 35-40 players should be accounted for in order for them to receive the reward. IF someone leaves the city before the timer runs out or the death of the NPC, those players will not be rewarded. (unless GMs consider it otherwise).

    4) The time between each invasion should be of 1 hour from the end of the invasion (this is to give players the opportunity to have their DP skills ready before their turn to invade).

    5) Factions are allowed to kisk in one area inside the city and that area cannot be camped. GMs can designate a kisking area and attacking/camping that kisk area will disqualify the entire faction from the event. (the purpose of kisking is so GMs don't have to keep on re-spawning a player that by accident returned to his/her save point).

    This kisk area could be a room (which will be clear of NPCs by a GM) or any other place that the GMs consider best suited for kisking.

    The Reward:
    That's for the GMs to decide since 35-40 players should be rewarded.

    The Preparation:
    Each faction will have the time to prepare for the invading army since they will be notified by the GMs prior the invasion. The invading faction will be spawn on a safe area and then given the go-ahead to start rading the place.

    This is just an event idea and if a GM considers it's do-able then I'd be glad to provide more details if necessary.

    Last I checked they can heal and respawn but not actually rez mobs D:

    This sounds like a great idea ^_^
    The only thing that worries me is the time duration of the event.
    1 Hour of having to keep track of 40+ players doesn't sound like an easy task at all.
    Specially with the amount of people that will dc, not kisk, get ported out. People will spamm the hell out of the GM or GM's and
    it'll make it just harder to keep things organized.

    thats a good idea however
    some npc's are used for quest like for example vidar
    and an sam isnt really supposed to re spawn npc's as it causes problems in the database

    Its a great idea but it should be like 20 - 25 elyos and asmos, 35-40 is to much people

    this has been done before. albull(or some other gm back in the day) summoned a couple of hundred elyos to panda city and so forth.


    =v and there used to be asmo invasions of herion led by a gm also x_X..

    IDTS.. imagine 25 Elyos fighting 100+ Asmodians... and battling the NPCs at the same time. Its not good brah. There's also a problem on Killing VIDAR, coz asmos need to go up the elevator before he can be reached.

    I'd like to thank all for your comments and suggestions. I still hope there can be room for this event even if modifications are required.

    True, the idea is open to modifications on behalf of the staff and suggestions by other members. If there's anything that can make it easier on the staff, I'm sure it can be worked out.

    Well, if that is the case then I guess what jchernandez suggested can also be applied, make a GM take the place of the NPC but in my idea (not known it could cause db issues), I was thinking that more than just that one NPC will die, (all the NPCs on the way to the target might die). Hopefully Alente will read this and give his opinion or suggestion on how to go about the event.

    Thanks, that's not a bad addition to the even idea.

    Not really, 35-45 is what you'd need because as soon as you say that elyos/asmodians are invading, more than 40 players will show up to defend (kill) the other faction players. 35-40 is to ensure that enough players are there to move foward, not to mention that besides players, they need to fight NPCs.

    i'm loving this event reminds me of WoW when we would get 2 full 40man raids to go and raid Stormwind(or w/e its called) and kill the general... sounds like fun

    dun like it, asmos could use this idea to kisk in santum and stay there forever making it another unsafe city, raid poeta LOL

    Hehe, well you need to remember that once the event is over, the kisks will be gone too (destroyed by other players or a GM). The kisking is only temporary just for the event =)
