[Event] King of the Hill

Explanation:

Players of both factions will form groups of 5 to join. The sixth member of the party will be a GM, that team's "King". There may be more maps for this in the future but for now the map is indratu fortress, in which there is a ring elevated above the ground (the hill) where you must get your GM to. Both teams start on opposite sides of the map and will place a kisk and bind there. Your GM will be mortal with regular stats, and will be fighting along side you. You must go into the fort and get your GM to the ring and keep him there for 30 seconds. Obviously the other team will be trying to kill your team (and more importantly your GM) as well as get their own GM to the ring and defend him there. Players(and the GM) can respawn at the kisk until either the kisk is depleted or one side has won.

Rules:

No fly/glide
No DP skills
No kisk-killing
No kisk-camping (This is a very broad category, youre better off just staying away from the other team's kisk)
GMs must have invulnerability OFF
GMs must have Invisibility OFF
GMs must try hard in fighting
GMs must be equally geared
GMs must have base speed and stats, and are banned from using any //commands during the event

Rewards: (Standard high end Event rewards)
Winners:
50 Adoring Tiger Candy
50 Valiant Tiger Candy
50 Polar Bear Candy
50 Summer-Inguin
20 L90 Enchantment Stones
200 pcs. choose one (Courage, Raging Wind, Running)
Players receive 2 of the prizes listed above.

Losers:
20 Adoring Tiger Candy20 Valiant Tiger Candy
20 Polar Bear Candy
20 Summer-Inguin
50 pcs. choose one (Courage, Raging Wind, Running)
Players receive 1 of the prizes listed above.

The event sounds fun , but when i read the prizes.. i change my mind.

 

Could you elaborate on that?

*shrug* its the standard reward list from highest difficulty events.

 

I got disappointed when I looked at the prizes too... hehe but its a good event. Very unique IMO.

 

Oh, hmmm allow me to clear that up. This isn't a one time event. If this passes testing without a problem and is liked by the community it would be as a permanent addition to the events. Thats why the prizes are the same as a RvR or 1v1 tourny, its not a one time deal with a big prize.

 

Who said the prizes of the RvRs/1v1 Tourneys are alright? Rofl..
I will be honest , the prizes suck xD and that's why i usually don't participate. I join 1v1s only cause i like duelling lol , but i know it's not up to u u'll need to ask carl if he allows the AMs to give better prizes i guess.
And not just that. Events are supposed to be for everyone , not for just good players.
This King of the Hill event , requires the best players , having newbs in ur team will ruin it.

 

All team based events "require the best players" even RvRs can be thrown by a few weak players. On that note it's up to the players to form their team of 5 and then pm the GM. That same concept is already in practice in the group vs group event. As for the prizes, I dont decide that. That would be up to the higher ups, so for now people should be more focused on the event concept and not the prizes.

 

Personally as an Asmodian , i usually have to invite random noobs because of our lack of players. We have 1) very few players on our side and 2) The "good" players we have on our side won't join the events coz of the prizes.

I remember Bryne giving Debilkarim items for the tournies back in 2.0. If you didn't know, those drops got implemented almost in the end of 2.1 -.-. Hence prizes got nerfed like ****.

 

i agree with petro on this like he said events are for EVERYONE not just good players this event wouldnt give newer players a chance at all

while in other events such as RvR and faction raids they can get atleast something out of it

other then that i think this event would be very fun

 

Might as well take out 1v1, tag team, group vs group, Kill the GM, Duel the GM, Escort the GM, Stop the GM, and capture the flag. Because with that logic new players would stand no chance in any of those.

 

Thing is, no matter how creative and really GOOD events will be held, when the prizes aren't worth it it's just useless.
Where are the times you received really unique prizes in events? Gamez Event Group for example? events that if you won - you really had something special as a reward.
It's a good idea and the work AM's are putting to make better events is awesome - and I know it's not your fault but prizes should be more worthy than some candies and scrolls for the own good of the event system...

Yep, just saying that its not a perfect system but its the best we got for now.

 

yup not a perfect system but really no way to make it a perfect system someone will always disagree with the way things are done no matter how good it may seem
