Same format as always, each answer - 1 prize from normal category.

I'll PM you after event asking you for your IGN, Server, and desired prizes. Also telling you how many prizes you won (from each correct answer).

Today's is bringing in some psychology into the mixture. A field so related I even provided you with a surgery :p.

#1: What is Fugue, and what are a few unique characteristics about it? (Not speaking of my in-game name ;p)

#2: How much of the population is said to be able to 'dissociate'?

#3: Give the name of a neurosurgical treatment for OCD; and how it is performed.

#4: What % of the population is said to suffer from depression?

#5: Give 4 main "CATEGORIES" of antidepressant drugs.

#6: Give me the difference between anterograde and retrograde amnesia.

#7: The DSM-IV has 5 indexes, give each of them and a brief summary of each.

#8: What is an iatrogenically induced disorder?

err this might seem like a minor detail but for ur population questions, do u mean global? or a specific country?

#1: What is Fugue, and what are a few unique characteristics about it? (Not speaking of my in-game name ;p)

A rare psychiatric disorder characterized by reversible amnesia for personal identity, including the memories, personality and other identifying characteristics of individuality

#2: How much of the population is said to be able to 'dissociate'?

Statistics show the rate of dissociative identity disorder is .01% to 1% of the general population. Still, more than 1/3 of people say they feel as if they're watching themselves in a movie at times, and 7% percent of the population may have undiagnosed dissociative disorder.

#3: Give the name of a neurosurgical treatment for OCD; and how it is performed.

    Psychosurgery - 4 procedures
    1.) Anterior cingulotomy.
    2.) Subcaudate tractotomy.
    3.) Limbic leucotomy.
    4.) Anterior capsulotomy.

#4: What % of the population is said to suffer from depression?

In the United States alone, around 10% of the country’s total population of age 18 years and older develop depressive symptoms

#5: Give 4 main "CATEGORIES" of antidepressant drugs.

    Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors
    Tricyclics
    Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors
    Newer Mechanisms

#6: Give me the difference between anterograde and retrograde amnesia.

Anterograde amnesia - loss of ability to create memories while past memories remain
Retrograde amnesia - loss of past memories

#7: The DSM-IV has 5 indexes, give each of them and a brief summary of each.

Axis I refers broadly to the principal disorder that needs immediate attention; e.g., a major depressive episode, an exacerbation of schizophrenia, or a flare-up of panic disorder. It is usually (though not always) the Axis I disorder that brings the person "through the office door."

On Axis II, we indicate the personality disorder that may be shaping the current response to the Axis I problem. Axis II also indicates any developmental disorders, such as mental retardation or a learning disability, that may be predisposing the person to the Axis I problem. For example, someone with severe mental retardation or a paranoid personality disorder may be more likely to be "bowled over" by a major life stressor, and succumb to a major depressive episode.

Axis III lists any medical or neurological problems that may be relevant to the individual's current or past psychiatric problems; for example, someone with severe asthma may experience respiratory symptoms that are easily confused with a panic attack, or indeed, which may precipitate a panic attack.

Axis IV codes the major psychosocial stressors the individual has faced recently; e.g., recent divorce, death of spouse, job loss, etc.

Axis V codes the "level of function" the individual has attained at the time of assessment, and, in some cases, is used to indicate the highest level of function in the past year. This is coded on a 0-100 scale, with 100 being nearly "perfect" functioning (none of us would score that high!)

#8: What is an iatrogenically induced disorder?

Iatrogenic Disease is defined as a disease that is caused by medical treatment.

#2 Almost 1/3 of the population

#4 Is pretty vague for me, when you say population are you saying people of all ages? How minor can this depression be? I'll just throw out 16% for the Indian population, 9.5% for USA

#6 Anterograde amnesia results in the inability to create new memories while retrograde amnesia results in prior memories being lost

#8 A disorder which will surface due to complications which arise from the current medical treatment or advice being taken

Ahh I meant dissociate in terms of general dissociation. But true, for Dissociative Identity Disorder ('DID') I would say it might be around there, although some clinicians don't believe it exists (I myself have never come across it, at least as far as I am aware... now that is the trick of it :p!). I heard their eyes can change colors too as the identities switch o.o; quite interesting to me XD!

And in terms ofdepression... 10% is "close" its actually 16.6%, but I'll give you it.

    The rest is spotless :p

MmmmmMmmMMmmmmMmMmMMm I should have probably said depersonalization aside from dissociate. My bad :<

I'd say yeah on this one :3

    Bad question, sorry >.<!

For #4, yeah I wa vague but you are accurate. Was just looking for 16.6% in NA in general.

And the rest is perfect :p

    +4 answers.
