I've noticed that whenever I'm flying or running towards a target enemy and I catch up to them, my attacks do not activate. I guess because they're still moving. I stop and then i have to chase again but no attacks go off. This has to be fixed. HAS TO. It puts all melee classes at a severe disadvantage in PvP. What is supposed to happen is that you catch up and stop for the animation and the attack, then you continue chasing them after the animation finishes. It's truly annoying.

Also, I've noticed that a lot of times in PvP I get a "too far away" error message when I try to attack players even when I'm right next to them. It really makes it hard to kill someone when you can't attack them.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

I don't really get what you're trying to say.
Have you checked the Game Options? there's a setting to auto follow a target after u activate a skill. I'm sure you're aware of it tho o_o

He means, if you run up to somebody while spamming a skill, you get that "target is too far" to fix that you need to hold w until you get in range then hit the skill.

    3 choices
    - Disabling skills, notice how disabling skills are usually ranged through out classes?
    - Get an extendable weapon.
    - Get a better ping so you can execute skills as soon as you get in range.

no need to tweak anything. you can fix it on your side.

Nah, its a bug with hitting skills and running towards the target, basically if you're 30m from your target, and you press skills to make your character automatically move to your target you will get that bug. In order to avoid that, you need to move your character up to the target then press your skill. It's a range bug that's been here for awhile.

You should try unchecking "Disable auto-approach target" if you have it checked.

The issue is with the auto-approach when activating a skill, so no, it's not clicked to Disable it. Holding W would normally be an option except when I'm flying in the abyss, where it's waaay easier to simply auto-approach than to try to maneuver around with WASD. I can rely on auto-approach to follow them even if they go too high up on my screen and I can no longer see them, making it hard to maneuver on my own. You see the dilemma there that prevents your suggestion, but thank you, Teilak.
Extendable weapons are inferior, though they do provide better range, which is the tradeoff. It's an option I could consider, but would prefer not to as the highest level for those items is 50 and not 55, but beggars can't be choosers.
My ping is just fine, but thanks for the suggestion. Any lag I experience would be as a result of the server. Both my computer and ISP are very sufficient. Also, as you can see, I'm not talking about lag. You can also see the part where I explain what is supposed to happen. Meaning that I've seen what is supposed to happen on retail and other private servers. If it worked for me there, it should work for me here. Since it doesn't, it's nothing on my end.
As for disabling skills, yes, I use them, but I still experience issues such as "too far away" when they're not running away, but rather simply standing in front of me.

    It's the same on retail.

    W users pwn auto-approachers.

Teilak's suggestion is the solution to this, end of the story. If you can't do that, don't even try to master melee classes.

Tip: Use auto-approach to get a basic idea of where your enemy is, and once you see him, use W.

I know what you mean, i've stayed in core for the longest time and i'm using Blackheart/ABG Sword for extendable feats. i use auto-approach technically but always move around using WSAD to get over the range bug, it's been there for a while since old 2.1

you would be surprise how 50 extendable fused with 50e pawns.

    its a range bug.

just don't forget to constantly move around to avoid the bug.
