[Guide] Infinity Shard - Hyperion Unbound!

    The infinity Shard is the most difficult Instance in AION 4.0/4.5.
    Located in the Idian Depths, this dungeon is designed for alliances of 12 players which want to prove their worth by fighting against one of the most powerful bosses in the game, Hyperion.

    Getting Ready
    :


    Infinity Shard is designed for alliances of 12 players, although even groups of 6-8 players can manage it if experienced enough.
    To optimize your experience in the instance, set up your groups as follows:

    Group I : 1 Templar, 1 Gladiator, 2 DPs, 2 Healers (Clerics)
    Group II : 4 Dps, 2 Healers (Chanter+Cleric)

    Stage One : Ide Generators


    By entering the instance, you will notice that Hyperion is surrounded by a shield made of Idian, which makes him impossible to attack.
    In order to deactivate the shield and engage a battle with the boss, you will have to kill four (4) Ide Shield Generators located around the map:

    These Generators are surrounded by a shield which makes them undestroyable. To remove this minor shield, you will have to kill three balaur guards surrounding each Generator. As soon as the balaur guards are killed, you will be able to attack the Generator itself. When the Generator gets destroyed, a message will show up: "Hyperion's Shields are flattering".

    Hyperion's Shield has been successfuly deactivated, you are now ready to face the boss.

    Stage Two : Hyperion


    Hyperion is a stationary boss which doesn't move, yet his attacks have a range of 15 meters.

    Templar, Gladiator and meele DPS players will have to stay directly around the boss.
    Ranged players will have to stay on the surrounding external paths, as far away as possible from the boss.
    Healers will need to split up. Healers of the main group will have to stay close to the column in the inner circle, healers of the second group will have to stay on the outer path in order to support ranged DPS players.

    Hyperion's skills mainly inflict Earth damage. Use Elemental earh resistance scrolls, buffs and consumables to reduce the amount of damage taken from Hyperion's attacks.

    Hyperion's Stages:

    Hyperion's attack pattern changes depending on the amounts of HP left:

    Stage I: 100%

    Normal auto attacks, 3 special dps skills (16mts range).
    Tanks should taunt the boss in order to make the group face the backside of it, avoiding massive amounts of damage to weaker members.

    Stage II: 80%

    Hyperion starts summoning Balaur to help him in the battle. DPS players should try to kill them before they reach the tank.

    Stage III: 60%

    Hyperion casts a protective shield around him making himself invincible. In the main time, new Balaur will appear, defending the boss. Kill them and wait until the shield vanishes.

    Stage IV: 55%

    Medium difficulty Balaur troops are summoned.

    Stage V: 47%

    Easy difficulty Balaur troops are summoned.

    Stage VI: 45%

    Hyperion will use his ranged attacks more often and will also summon more balaurs. Pay attention to his stun/shock waves and remove-shock immediately, otherwise your group won't last long.

    Stage VII: 30%

    Hard difficulty Balaur troops are summoned.

    Stage VIII: 25%

    Similar to Stage III, Hyperion will defend himself by casting an ide shield and by summoning additional Balaur.

    Stage IX: 20%

    Medium difficulty Balaur troops are summoned.

    Stage X: 10%

    Hyperion will use all his resources to wipe your party. Every single skill inflicts more damage and more powerful Balaur will be summoned. Try to kill him as fast as possible, taking too long will result in a complete wipe of your group.


    Balaur Spawn Points:


    Balaurs will spawn from two different points located on the top of the external paths of the map. Ranged DPS and their healers should move to the top of the hill and avoid the monsters to move down. Gladiators and Meele DPS should move towards the Templar and protect him from the assault.


    Ide Resonance:

    Ide Resonators are special devices designed to protect and support Hyperion against enemies.
    These special NPCs will buff up Hyperion with special "Attack Buffs" which increase the damage inflicted on enemies,defense and speed and can not be removed. Also, Hyperion will periodically cast powerfull AOE nukes when Ide Resonators charge him.


    There is a total of 4 Resonators, spawning one per time. If a Resonator succeeds buffing "Attack Boost" on Hyperion, it will become invulnerable and won't cast any more buffs on the boss, then, a new resonator will spawn.

    When Hyperion gets affected by 4 Buffs "Berserker" mode will turn on, the party will be wiped and the boss will disappear.


    Ide Resonator Informations:

    HP: 32.000
    Respawn time: 40 Seconds

    Two or more Ranged players should dedicate their time to kill the spawning resonator continuously, before the buffs get casted.

    The best position to kill Ide Resonators is shown by the orange dots.

    Remember, killing the Resonators is essential. Do not ignore this aspect of the instance if you don't want to fail.

    Rewards:

    Each member of the group will be rewarded with two special chests containing class specific items.

    Hyperion's Equipment chest will reward the player with one (1) Eternal/Mythical Weapon/Armor/Accessory part of the Hyperion series.

    Expeditionary's fabled chest will reward the player with crafting materials, one special crafting scroll (PvP balic), enchant stones and Ancient Manastones
    .

    I guess Hyperion is bugged on Gamez cause he keeps chasing people around the area (despite being a stationary boss) We did managed to slay it eventually. (was a bit challenging at first cuz ppl were slightly confused regarding the tactics but we got the hang of it eventually)
    Btw is modor working now?

    Did you enter Infinity Shard from the main gate in Idian Depths or through the Farm Alliance BG?Also, modor (Danuar Reliquary) and every other 4.0 instances is now working.

    We entered through the normal ID entrance. We didn't want to risk it with the custom spawn portal in Sanctum cause during the past week we killed a few bosses like Yamennes, Sheba or Pashid which only dropped fluxes and trash manastones >_> (farm group/alliance portals were used for those)

    heya! The 4.0-4.5 instance that are working; does this apply to Lumiel server only? :D Inquiring about Ophidian Bridge, one of the 4.0 instance. I did this instance a few times but we never got the supposed drops even after destroying the cannon following guides from youtube and external websites. Or maybe we were doing the instance wrong. Requesting for a walk through for the said instance :)

    What about Ide Resonators ? Aren't DPS (at least 2 ranged DPS) supposed to destroy them at least 2 as fast as possible because if those aren't destroyed, Hyperion gets fully buffed (those 4 buffs) and he wipes whole party.

    Yeah about that, its really tricky but just when u wipe all generators just jump at the beginning of the stairs SM/Sorc/Gunner is good for those, those had low HP so its really easy to get rid of it.

    And don`t aggro the boss is your not done with it.

    so this is why we fail always and that stonerobo kill us 4 or 5 times till dissapear...that 4 ide resonators floating in the sky above hyperion must be destroyed fast when spawn again?!!!

    After destroying 4 generators you must go back to the lower stair where u began and after few second u will see Ide u need to kill it fast, i recoment sorc or gunner for it. then you go up and the second one will spawn and so on, don`t let it charge or it will become Invincible and connot be distroyed causing u 1HIT K.O.

    I don't know about this though, me and my legion tried this instance like 3 times and gave us the same results. We have 2-3 guys who plays retail both NA and EU, they specifically know what to do since they have experience with it. We usually have 2 Rangers with top gears, so that takes care of the resonators. Problem is though, when we get the boss hp down to where it spawns some balaurs it's usually when our party gets wiped out. And when I say wiped out, 1 hit KO. Which is something weird because it shouldn't be like that, the boss should not do the 1 hit KO or "Finish Them" skill without the resonator's buffs. Also one weird thing that happened was, when we checked combat log, it showed us that the 1 hit KO that wiped our party came from the balaur medic, it inflicted like 17 million damage? The boss however inflicts around 48k damage. Might be visual bug coming from the balur medic though but still it was not supposed to 1 hit us or even use the damn skill. Another thing, the boss should be stagnant on its position, meaning it shouldn't run around chasing people but it did LMAO! It had feet! I'm very confident we did the pattern for the instance correctly, we even watched the guide on youtube that lasted like 23 minutes together rofl. If possible, kindly check on this Ahri if you have time.

    something in this instance is still bugged ...is posible some of that little balaur around hyperion to do that huge dmg like haydheez says above..

    We killed it with my close friends but sadly we got all DCed bcoz there was a blackout when we are about to loot the items. It was hard so hard. a matter of luck. we'll try it again next time.
