Help - How to rid of excess work order materials

Was wondering how to rid of the EXCESS materials which were given to you for the work order.

The dude usually gives extra materials incase it fails but I just realized that by 'dragging' it out of your inventory produces the " You cannot destroy ***** because it is used in the ** quest which cannot be abandoned once started "

Simply if he gives you 20 pieces and u only have to do 16 .. Make All 20 and dont waste materials and is eztra xp

 

So if he asks for 9 of them, but gives me materials enough to make 10, i give him 10 instead? i dont think that works. only 9 will disappear from my inventory.

the main issue is that my inventory is being filled with the materials he gave me

 

grab the quest again then press j and abandon the work order quest

 

Can't abandon a quest you've already done mate.

It is my fault that i forgot to mention that i've already finished these work quests..

 

you should be able to throw them away.

i dont even turn the quest in, craft the order, abandon quest and throw the materials, repeat.

 

I cant throw the materials away. It gives me the " You cant discard this item because it's for a quest which cannot be abandoned" as stated above. :unsure:

 

he's talking about the materials u get from the work order not the materials u get after doing the work order

 

then why not just craft them all, THEN throw them away?

he can't craft it cuz he doesn't have quest anymore
and he can't get the quests anymore cuz his crafting level is way past those work orders

 

keep crafting it or not, i still cant get rid of it:

why don't u craft all 10 cuz the only reason u will have an extra one is if u only make 9. so if u craft all 10, all 10 materials should disappear from your inventory and what u should have left in your inventory is the result of crafting those materials.

i understand what you are saying. the only reason u are left with an extra one is if u only craft what is required and not craft all the materials he gives you. so in order not to have an extra one, you have to craft all the materials he gives. don't craft only what is required.
so if he gives you 15 materials and only 12 is required and you only craft the 12 required then you will have 3 extra ones, right? so in order not to have those 3 extra ones you have to craft all 15 of them and u won't have extra ones.

but going back to your original question.. i don't think there is a way to delete those

 

okay, so if i did what you're saying:

1) i get enough raw materials to make 10. if requirement says 9 finished product, i still make 10 final products.
2) i go to him, finish the quest and he takes away 9 of the final products. leaving me with 1 extra final product.
3) my inventory fills up with the 10th final product.
outcome: i'm left with the extra final product.

if i dont do what you said:

3) my inventory fills up with the extra raw materials ones.

outcome: i'm left with the extra raw materials

edit: realized that i put excess work order "materials" which shouldnt have been there.

 

I simply made all and it let me discard the extra.

 

well for me it says " You cannot destroy [item name] because it is used in the "" quest which cannot be abandoned once started"

it might be a bug since it doesnt say anything in the "" quest.

just says : ""quest

edit: gonna try and restart the aion client and see if it'll work

2nd edit: didnt work. still gives me that " cant destroy cuz its for a quest" crap.. its taking up 2 cubes worth of space in my inventory..

 

nathan dont bother, looked around more and all the people who give "advice" r clueless, apparently it started doing it after the server came up yesterday and btw ur not alone, all of us have this (just checked bout 5 other threads bout the same thing). and yes i have this problem too

 

:annoyed:.. yeah i think i saw you running around asking people how to rid of it. well they're not really clueless, its just that i didn't give enough information. my fault for that. i'm surprised that NO GM came in to confirm this bug/whatever it is. outy:outy:

 

i have the same problem.. i mastered my cooking skill few days ago and i had no problem with deleting extra material. i got this problem today whey i tried alchemy so i guess something went wrong when server was down.
i just hope it will be fixed soon cause i still wanna learn new skills and keep mi inventory the way i like it-filled with stuff i need :wink:
