Starting from double clicking the Aion icon, for my PC it takes about 2 minutes

    my pc specs are:
    Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
    Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 260 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
GFX Card name: AMD Radeon HD 6570
    GEIL DDR RAM 2GB
    Core Speed: 803.70MHz
    Motherboard - AsRock

    planning to upgrade.

Does it really take 2 mins to load or is it faster on better pcs?

It's not just about the amount of ram, but also about the CL (CAS Latency) of the ram, which is basically the delay in processor cycles before the processor can load data from the RAM (if data loads sequentially then the delay becomes insgnificant after the first address loaded). Also depends on your harddrive speed, which is 7200rpm (rounds per minute) for me, slower ones are 5600rpm, fastest desktop HDDs are 10,000rpm. SSD will be able to load the game much faster. Data fragmentation also makes a difference.

Anyways think you guys really shouldn't ignore the harddrive since the game is like 22gb or so by now.

I got about 30sec-1 minute logging in first time, and i have :
    Sempron x2
    4 GB RAM
    GeForce 9600GT
    Win 7
...So buy more RAM and u got less than minute, HDD is important too but i think he allready have 7200rpm;] maybe take off your 2 GB ram and buy 4 gb 1333mhz ;]

it depends on ur motherboard too if ur motherboard can handle more than 2GB of ram.it will be a waste of money buying a 4GB ram or higher.

Funny ! Never thought about counting how much time it needs to load Aion. Anyhow , i have to wait for 55 seconds and most of the time it seems an eternity .

    Intel 320 80gb ssd
    I7 920 4.0ghz
    6Gb of Ram

    Interesting thread ;p

Funny idea, here are my results (I don't take any personal responsibility for possible divergencies due to my slow-poke reaction when hitting the stopwatch..)

first time an eternity of 52 seconds,
    3 times after 32/30/33 seconds

    i7 3770k at 4.0 ghz
    32gb ram
    Samsung SSD 830 pro 256gb
    AMD Radeon 7970

Weird enough for some reasons my notebook does it in...
    first time: 47s
    3 times after: 29s/30s/30s

    i5 3317U at 1.7ghz
    8gb ram
    Intel SSD 330 120gb
    Nvidia Geforce GT 640M

guess it's due to the better overall setup of the notebook xD

Lol I don't think there is anyone who's motherboard can't handle more than 2gb of RAM. Seriously, they stopped making those like 10 years ago.

Don't have to study it to look around you. Most people had 4gb for years now, these days even laptop standards are 8-16gb, desktop people get even more.
