I don't really know where to put this

As Lust4Hate already stated, and I'm just going to phrase it shortly:

AM's and GM's on these servers, which are run by Carl, don't get paid. They became AMT's and advanced to higher ranks based on their amount of hard work, and that's admirable effort right there. But most importantly, they volunteered to help you guys, the players out.

But, would you rather give up your real life, your whole money-making career to do something for a cyber community that is made up mostly of whines and *****es all day long? Do you have an incentive to work happily and diligently if you know that no matter how hard you try, under seriously weak management and with lazy peers, shit will never get fixed properly? Do you want to continue working if the same f'ing problem pops up days after days, even if you are told by a higher authority that it's fixed, and there's really nothing you can do about it, since it's not really your decision to make, nor it's in your profession?

I do not know Carl's story as to how he has never been here when shit hits the fan, and people like Ashtar receive the blows from players who do nothing but logging in-game and whine all day, and I don't really want to know (I really want to etch a "greedy corporate butt" image of Carl into my mind, for my own personal reasons)

But if you want to blame it on someone, you'd probably want to stay away from the AM's, or at least pick the right people to blame among them.

I know there are good AM's out there. But lol my god I have also seen some bad ones. The fault can be blamed on them as well.

 

Exactly AM/GM's are just doing there job, and fixing the server is not part of their job. And also I have never seen Carl visit gamez even once, in game I mean.

 

+1 Ghost and i'd suggest removing the (.) from the title. Remember? It causes it to screw up when it goes past page 1 lol.

I'm not sure ghost but somehow when titles on threads have a period in it, once it hits page 2 it gives the 500 external error problem.

Defending GMs really boils down to specific GMs. They can be good for the community, or they can be part of the problem. People whining all the time is present in all game server communities, so that's just part of the environment. While it's a bad element in the community, it's not really a huge problem, because no matter what, you can't satisfy everyone. Carl has his faults, but this is I believe still the most successful private Aion server. While he doesn't have a public presence, he's definitely doing something right.

And despite all the drama and such, I rather miss my old job here. Though I can't possibly be satisfied with just being a GM.

 

Most of the GM's are doing good, but it varies on a person by person basis. And quite frankly a few individuals should be very ashamed of themselves.

 

Idk about you guys but when I was GM, I was njoying every single moment trying to put the shit of each game/ community together and fix it. I really never cared about the level of drama, I just was trying to fix things for the best and leave both sides happy. Besides, as GM or Mod, what offers more satisfaction is to see a happy community in-game and on forums.

But the truth must be told that there is no much respect if GMs here, nor from the community side -due to the immature lvl of it- and from Carl's side.
